estimates?

hey guys, im new to the forums my names Derek.

I recently came across a 91 prelude SR, it looks pretty clean and nice, and i am interested in buying it. it has 260000 Kilometers, The guy is asking $750 canadian. but there are a few things wrong with it.. this is what he wrote:

We bought the car new in 1991. We were driving it up until 3 weeks ago. In order to make it roadworthy, I am pretty sure it needs the CV joints replaced (this is why we stopped driving it). Also, it burns a liter of oil every 3 tanks of gas. The rear stabilizer bar is loose and rattles when you hit bumps in the road ( a mechanic quoted me $200 for this). As for the body, there is rust around the rear wheel wells that has perforated the metal and there are some quarter to loonie sized spots on the door. The car is for sale in AS IS condition and has not been saftied. I don’t mean to disillusion anyone but I want to be fair in the description of the car.

There are some positives as well. The car has never stranded us in the 18 years that we have had it. The interior is in good shape, and the rubber is about 50%. I hope this clarifies any questions. Feel free to call or email if there is anything else you need to know.

do you think the car is worth buying?
also how much would it be to repair all this?
thanks.

As for how much it would cost to repair, you need to take the car to your local body shops and get estimates.

Axles are easy to replace if you are handy with tools, but I recommend using air tools to do this, much easier.

And it comes down on what you are purchasing the car for? I own my lude and I have invested much time and money into it, and since I am the Aftermarket Project Manager for the 3rd gen community, I have had a few products made for the ludes.

So it all depends on what you want the car for? Daily driving or a long term project?

I sell the H22 mount kits, and the Ksport coilover suspension kit for the ludes. If you decide to go long term project pm me or email me at: onefunrydperformance@q.com

And if you decide to keep it for daily driving, then do all the regular tune up and replacement parts to keep it running good.
