Aight, problem here. I seem to have screwed up a headers install (don't ask how I mess somehting that simple up). nywayz, I cross threaded teh EGR tube, and its locked in there tight. A shop wants $300 to tap out the old tube and replace it with a new tube. I'm thinking I'll just tell them to seal it off. Cuz, I heard its just for emmissions and not to worry about the EGR valve/tube. i've heard some people have sealed it off. It won't affect performance will it? and will it throw a CEL light or anything at me, or any other computer codes? any suggestions? I guess its better off just cuttin the tube and sealing it off, since we can't get it out of there. thnxs in advance.

also, whats the best method for sealing off the tube that comes out of the headers? pls help.

you could make metal plates and tighten them down with gaskets or u can cut off the egr pipe and place a filter on it. so it wont throw and check engine lights...but u can eliminate the entire egr system on the intake manifold if you rig the plug so that it wont throw the check engine light.
