Door ajar Light

I know people have posted this before but everyone's solution was to just disconnect something. I've replaced both door swiches but my door ajar light in the instrument cluster stays on constantly. It used to beep until i disconnected the harness inside the rear view mirror assembly but i'd like to actually "fix" the problem. My vehicle also has a short somewhere as I've replaced the battery and alternator numerous times but if i leave the battery hooked up and dont drive it a few days, the battery will be dead. I was hoping both problems were related and somebody could help me with a solution. It would be greatly appreciated as I just got my ludee to pass smog after 2 years and 3 failed smogs later. This time it passed with almost no NOX, clean as a whistle. If you fart you probably emit more emissions thank my Prelude My mom was the original owner so even tho it has 200,000 miles on my 88 2.0 Si, I plan to have it for a lot longer. Thanks, first time poster by the way, be easy! If you need any other info to help me out, I would be happy to give it to you.

Your battery drain problem may be the seat belt tensioners. Try pulling the fuse for the tensioner and see if the battery still drains. Believe it or not, this may be related to your door ajar problem. Pull the fuse and see where you are.

OK, sounds good. If it turns out to be the tensioner it may be covered under Honda's lifetime seatbelt warranty. Here is a link to a web page that talks about the warranty, and also has a link to the service bulletin for it...
