Good Day!
I have an '89 Si with standard two-wheel steering. I found an '89 with four-wheel steering and all of the components intact.
My question is can I retrofit the four-wheel system to my vehicle, since I'm not completely sure simply by looking at the various components, framework, etc. - and do NOT want to find out the hard way...
So..., any help, advice, information or sources therefore would be greatly appreciated. I sincerely thank you all 'Luders' in advance!!!
As far as I'm aware, there were no real "body" differences between 4WS and non-4WS cars. It's a pretty big project, there's quite a bit of hardware in the 4WS system.

Its a two man job and will require air tools to to help you do things a lot faster and easier.
it is not a tow man job, and if you say you have to have air tools you do not belong any ware near a car other than to drive it, i have personal done 3 4ws swaps on 3rd gen preludes, and i grantee i have done more to a prelude than you can dream of, and i have not used air tools for any of it
so before you go scaring off people who want to mod their cars why dont you step back and think if your way is the only way

Back off buddy, I recommend the airtools because he/she might have to bust some of the old bolts and nuts.
Slow your roll, I know what I am talking about as well, and your skill level compared to the OP is different, so dont jump on me like I am some newb.
As for being a two man job, it is a two man job for someone who may not be to experienced with wrenching.
I can do the job myself, but I would rather have another person help out when things get a little bit tough, because when it comes to wrenching, things always go wrong. Especially with the 3rd gens.

you could also ask AZ Race to make a 4WS install kit. thatd be awesome if you want to pay now and install it about 2 years from now

I thank you all for your input and the wealth of information - all very helpful indeed. Doesn't look like it's really anything 'major', but just learning about the frame section that's in the way...well, knowing that has already saved me a lot of. . .let's just say 'voicetrous frustration'.
Later!

Appreciate it! Unfortunately I was only able to get the engine pulled from the other Lude before F'g winter hit, so I can only hope all the 4WS components are still there. . .?!? In other words, it's not something I'm looking at doing anytime soon... ?!??!
But hey, on the bright side, I did get the COMPLETE engine w/tranny, alt., A/C compr, everything. . .for just $40!!! Believe it, or not.
