I have a 1989 prelude 2.0 Si 5 speed and i need to replace the driver side axle and the ones i get from local parts stores the size is wrong the goes into the back of the rotor any one else have this problem and could possibly give me the right part number, ive even tried later years. THANKS FOR ANY HELP
Where are you trying to fine one? You can only use axles for 88 and 89 Preludes. The 90 and 91 ludes use a larger outer spline and nut. Did you try getting one from NAPA, O'Reilly, Kragen, Auto Zone, etc...? I haven't had any problems finding them from NAPA.

Look up the actual Honda part number of the one you need and take that to the parts store and have them run tthe OEM number to cross reference it to there number.

Ive been to Autozone Advance and Napa and the length of the shaft is right but the diameter that goes into the back of the rotor is wrong, called honda dealership and they looked it up by vin and told me 44010-SFI-305, $283.00, that will be my last resort, vs. $63.00 at the others. still searching thanks for any help. honda told me it was a later built and had dif axles i tried later years and earlier still not correct.

Like I posted before, you can ONLY use axles from an 88 or 89 Prelude. No other years or models will fit. It sounds like they tried selling an axle from a 90 or 91 Prelude. They have bigger outer splines and are too big to fit in the hubs.
