I installed cam gears last night and now my car runs like crap. At first I set the cams at +3/-3 in/ex. When I took a test drive then car stumbles at around 3500 rpm. I reset the gears back to 0/0 and the problem was still there. I checked the ignition timing and it's OK. The car idles rough. Any suggestions? Did I miss a tooth when I put the belt back on? Anybody have this problem?
id bet my life your off a tooth... make marks on the cams/lower sprocket and adjust the belt one tooth in each direction on the lower sprocket.... i had the exact same problem.... you probably get pre-ignition on hard acceleration too... listen for pinging when you accerate hard
