a/c line and intake...

i am interested in setting up my intake like this.
http://www.geocities.com/tylerb929/preludeintake.html

my a/c right now does not work, i don't know if it just needs more freon in it, or if there is some other problem. i am not planning on fixing it/refilling it to use in the future. does anyone know if it is safe to cut the a/c line like it was done on the website? he claims that it is a $500,000 fine to relieve pressure or cut the a/c line.. anyone know anything about this? i don't wanna goto jail for putting in an intake in my car. also, is there a way to relocate the a/c line? i don't know if there is anything running through the pipes so if i disconnect it or cut it at some point, i don't want any gases or anything escaping out.. all i know is that even by relocating the battery, the a/c line is in the way of where an ideal cai intake may like to go.. if anyone else has done this and can contribute their suggestions, please do so. thanks in advance.

I was talking to the guy that did that and he said he heard about some peoples that had done it without cutting the A/C line, but I do not now for certain just do what I told ya in the other thread it is alot cheaper then a CAI AEM which run about $200 or more Oh yeah and the fine is true also but that is only if you are dumb enough to do it infront of a cop that cares I mean you do it in your driveway I am sure that noone will care or know what you are doing

yea, if your gonna remove your a/c you mise well take it all out and wait to do stuff until u have it all removed, you might also want to think about taking out the PS if you want some weight reduction and some more room under the hood.

If u gonna remove the a/c line, just be smart about it. Nothin is gonna happen unless ur a total dumbass. I said that fine was 500,000 for one reason. It was a total general fine. All i know is that it is a high fine. THe intake works very well in my opinion. Who else here has done "my" intake design?? how is it working

mine was empty too. But the reason for the fine is because of the substance freon. THe goverment banned it like 10 years ago or something, so the replacement is R134a refridgerent. Technicly you are supposed to go to an proffesianal to dispose of the freon correctly. Stupid if u ask me since u can do it ur self. Once again, just be smart about it

The A/c line kinda moves a bit not much the AEM intake slids right under but it is kinda hard u need to slide in the part the goes to the throttle body underneeth then pull it towards and then conect it to the throttle, seems easy, not really you will get annoyed
