Just done a B20A to a B20A5 engine swap and I needed to take the fuel tank off the 1990 Si to install on the 89 body. The fuel tank on the 1990 has an access panel to the two QD's(quick disconnects) for the electrical harness is located at the back seat.Need to pull the whole back seat out including the backrest and the carpet. Lift the carpet off and on the hump of the trunk are two round plates that are held by tar sealant pry that with a screw driver and disconnect the electrical QD's from the top. Now drain your fuel tank. Disconnect about 5 fuel lines from underneath the fuel tank that is located on the left side, about top of the fuel tank looking towards the front of the car. Take the two fuel tank straps off once your lines are disconnected and your fuel tank is empty of fuel.Make sure you have a jack supporting the empty tank.Once your fuel tank is down you will see all that plumbing go directly onto a mount plate and underneath that mountplate is your fuel pump. I am not certain, that you can access the fuel pump without dropping the fuel tank. Are you sure it is the fuel pump tho? Why not have somebody try to start the ignition at ACC first and you position yourself at the backseat with the back rest folded and listen if the pump is energizing or not. Sometimes you can hear it from the trunk. Check your fuses and relays too.
