Advance timing!

Hey evryone,
Does anyone knows the stock timing on our Ludes?
I wanna advance it to 2 or 3 degree in order to get a couple more HP! Has anyone done so...?
Thanks in advance!

In my book it says there is a jumper wire on the passenger side close to the window under the hood with a yellow cap on it, that when you short it the computer ignores what your doing I tried it and the engine sounded like it was changing idle speed unlike when its not jumped it sounds like it corrects it self. you could give that a try seemed to work for me, the car dosn't idle funny anymore anywayz

yea, ya gotta jump that for advancing it, i dunno if you leave it jumped it will keep the timing advanced or the computer will just make up for it, by retarding it.

Thats the ignition advance, you have to jump that when you do your timing, but you wont want to leave it jumped. It does the same thing as the vaccum advance on older engines, but this is electronic. The vaccum advance works this way: As the RPM increases, so does the vaccum pressure. This changes the timing, so that the timing advances more as it revs higher. You need this because as the engine speeds up you have to spark the fuel earlier so that the fuel combusts at TDC, because the piston is moving faster. I dont know of any way around the electronic advance, but i dont know too much about the computers they use in our cars.
