Thats the ignition advance, you have to jump that when you do your timing, but you wont want to leave it jumped. It does the same thing as the vaccum advance on older engines, but this is electronic. The vaccum advance works this way: As the RPM increases, so does the vaccum pressure. This changes the timing, so that the timing advances more as it revs higher. You need this because as the engine speeds up you have to spark the fuel earlier so that the fuel combusts at TDC, because the piston is moving faster. I dont know of any way around the electronic advance, but i dont know too much about the computers they use in our cars.
