Adding A/C - Honda Prelude Forum

I have a 1991 2.0 Si that I just acquired, and it does not have A/C. Since I live in Arizona, A/C is not an option, it is required. Can anyone tell me which models of Hondas & Accords I could salvage a system off of that would fit my 1991? Also, does anyone make an aftermarket kit to add A/C?

I'm really not too familiar with doing something like this...

installing from 88-91 sounds much easier than finding one from an accord.. you can see how the air conditioning is installed in the car by using the online manual which is stickied in this forum... you can find accords on hondaautomotiveparts.com diagrams to see if it would even be a close retrofit..

you can still acquire r12 and not convert to the new r134 but please take it somewhere instead of doing it yourself b/c of the possibility of poluting and inhaling the fumes is large since the sytem you'll pull from anywhere might be leaky..
