hey folks - any ideas on this one? ... my car has been sat for a couple months in the drive ... it started 1st time the other day but i cant get the shift lever to move out of the P position and so the car is stuck!.

i know some auto's have a removeable cover around the shift lever where you can access the interlock and over-ride it to get the lever out of P, but i cant see one on this car!.

wondering if someone has any ideas? ... the brake lights DO work as normal - iv heard that the shift lever lock is connected to the switch that operates the brake lights.

Is the car parked on an incline? I know that parking on a hill can sometimes put a lot of pressure on the parking pawl, which can make it difficult to shift out of park.
