YOU TELL ME! $2,400 doesn't sound worth it!

Ok... I am so incredibly mad and upset right now, it's unbelievable. I need your expert opinions. Right now my car is at Aamco, taken apart (the transmission). It's going to cost me $2,407.13 to fix it (to stock mother f'n order!). It's a 1994 S, with just about 92,000 miles on it. The guy at Aamco says that it looked like it had been driven really hard. So I'm thinking... If the transmission is gone at 91K, then who's to say the engine's not gonna go in another 2K miles? Will it be worth it for me to get this fixed? Or have them put it back together (which it did still work, with the exception of the grinding when going into 2nd, and not even going into fourth), and trying to sell it to a junkyard or dealership or something. I am really at a loss for what to do here people.
I've never considered myself as a hard driver. Sure I have accelerated quickly off the line regularly, but I have only seriously raced people like 3 times in my entire lifetime with this car. So I'm thinking the previous owners (bought it at 76K) ran it somewhat hard.

Please let me know if you think it's worth it. Doesn't seem like it to me. Thanks.

OR ... spend about 500 to 1000 more and pick up a J-Spec engine. Don't the J-specs come w/ new tranny's too?

Does insurance ever cover something like a blown engine? Just curious.

Not worth it...

Do the swap...thats what I'd do if it happened to me.....you'll be happy...cost you another $1000 but you'll have 14ft/lb or torque and 60 more HP to play with

But I guess u need that car back on the road soon..so...

The fastest swap that I've heard of is 8 hours. I'd do the swap by myself and with some friends to save money and to learn about your lude.

Swap is way more worth it than just the tranny getting fixed, good luck!

I used to have a '92 S. I picked up a used tranny from an SI for $700 installed. The gears were MUCH shorter, it brought that car alive.

Groupbuycenter has nothing to do with how long things take and customer service. Companies use their site to advertise groupbuys. It's these different companies that you have to watch out for, not groupbuycenter. Just make sure the company selling the product is legit, that's all. Give them a call and talk to them to find out more about the groupbuy and it can turn out to be a great deal. Email people that have left feedback for the company selling the product. Do a little research. Don't just assume groupbuycenter is garbage because you heard that some kids had problems with orders. That was probably just 1 out of the many different companies that use groupbuycenter. Most groupbuys you don't even have to wait for a deadline, you can just call up the place and order what you want and they'll send it out to you.
I ordered some Volk wheels via groupbuycenter from www.wheeloptions.com Excellent customer service, great price, and great quality(DUH, VOLK!!). I don't know where you came up with your low quality remark from either. They have top brand name stuff on there all the time. AEM, KONI, TOCKICO, WINGS WEST, GREDDY, HKS, EIBACH, APEXI, GROUND CONTROL....etc
