Yet another "Clearing the tail light" question

Hey everybody. I recently found my spare set of tail lights that I started to work on.

This is a simple question, but how much of a tolerance do I have when cutting the clear plastic? I got them in but it doesn't seem to sit flush against the reflector.

Does anyone have any close up shots of their lights? I just don't want them to come loose after I install them.

Thanks everyone, and sorry for the repeat question.

What i did was cut a piece that was as close to the size the hole is and then wedged it in there and put silicon sealent stuff around it and then something small but heavy on it so the sealent would hold, it looks perfect.

Thanks a lot guys. I'll give it a whirl. I was just wondering if I was the only one that couldn't get a perfect cut.

P2W, all I see is an imagestation pic

Thanks again

Thanks P2W. I've been going at it with a dremel, and even got plastic in my eye I thought I was going blind.

yeah, mine didnt want to go all the way back together either. I put some clamps on them and didnt the best i could. I am not sure why it happened, you could probably take them apart again and check it out. I didnt feel like it though, and you can only tell the slight separation if you are up close. Good luck.

one of mine didnt want to go back together but i forced it too, just get all the epoxy (sp?) heated up nice and then put all your force into it and it should go back together, and plus the epoxy begins to pull them back together as it cools down.
