yeh im a newb and need some serious help please!

okay we bought this car off a friend who knew nothing about cars, for 2k. no biggy we needed a car here on base. well everything was fine until a couple months ago, it seemed everything just kept taking a **** on us with this car. now dont get my name wrong, the car hates me, i dont hate it. i love honda period. but am very limited to knowledge on preludes, my previous was a 87 hatchback with a swap. ive read through some of the posts abotu some of my issues but dont seem to quite understand. we just now downloaded the manual so no clue yet.
so now here come the lists of problems see if you can help .. please.

its the 93 si h23a1
has 147k miles

one:
the car idles high. you can even hear the difference with the clutch in and out. and then after driving it typically will go back to normal-ish to about 1100rpm but usually high revvs at 1700rpm. then other times it will just keep goign up and down and you can hear it.. it drives me nuts. cant figure this out for my life. we were told to check the iacv, sav, fitv, ait, and probably more to list.

two: we just replaced the ac compressor bc it wouldnt spin and ended up breaking off our belt which resulted in having to run it home on just battery, which entail, we had to replace the battery. now today out of no where when you go to start it, its not wanting to start up. it makes the noise ruh ruh ruh ruh noise (yeh nice impersonation) with the belt trying to spin.. then after a while it will finally start but the lights are dimmer inside and outside. we have no clue.

three: the car seems to jut. sometimes i can manage to just push the gas pedal and get it to quit or shove it in nuetral and then back into gear. and it doesnt matter what gear you're in, it does it. but usually if the car isnt warmed up to the first bar. but even with that at times it will do it when its warmed up.

and hopefully this is the last thing.

four: before the last issue started.. i was driving it around base, it happened on a few different occasions. whenever id be driving and then come to a stop and put it in first(obviously clutch is in lol) it would just die. but if i put it in nuetral it would be just fine. then, i was in a parking lot and in either first or second and put in the clutch i dont remember why, maybe going to slow i dont know, but it just stauled out. byebye steering, and everything else. but it hasnt done it since three started but it started right as it ended. so im wondering if all this could possibly be tied together somehow.

we are very limited as we are serving overseas in turkey for the air force. if you have any advice, tips, pat on the back and its okay that would be amazing because we're both wanting to pull our hair out!

sorry for the long post and thanks in advance
coart

I have the same engine in mine. I'd love to hear a response on the idle issue. Mine does the same, then quits, then restarts, even somedays in D at low speeds (mine's automatic though) 93 Si. Even warmed up the idle still jumps around in park, around same RPMs as yours so sounds like might be a common problem. Also which fuse is for the cigarette lighter? is it the 10A ACC fuse?

Is this a joke?

You guys have idle issues. There are like 100 threads recently on this problem, please look around a little. I'm sure the solution is in there somewhere.

Well I don't really know how to help you. Check your PM for information.

The remedies described in the threads are about as good as you will find. If you aren't mechanically inclined, you probably are going to have to take it to a shop. I don't know what tools you have available either. About the best we can do is give you information on where to look - the elbow grease is up to you.
