Write Up for Bushings?

I'm plotin on doing all the bushings in my car. As of now I only need to do the rear inner control arm bushings, but I feel it would be a good idea to finish the job.

Does anyone know of a writeup or an online manual on how to do this?

I used to have links to two different pdf manuals, but they are dead links now

Thanks

PS. I did a search.

Replacing the suspension bushings is such a freakin' pain. I helped out on a friends civic and it was the most time consuming project I've worked on . . . getting the old bushings out is just such a pain. TWO local machine shops couldn't get them pressed out, so we had to resort to using hacksaws, a bench vise, drifts, and hammers. Good luck with the project, hope its not still covered in snow when you start.

yep, recently did all the front bushings on mine, and I'm going to do the rear soon. It is a PITA. The OEM ones usually cannot be pressed out. Make sure you have a hack-saw, and maybe even a torch.

4 Friends and i did my bushings in about 6 hrs.

-First disassemble the suspension of the car.
-Second, with a propane torch or 3 burn all the OEM bushings out. (Your neighbors will hate you, but they prolly do anyway, and don't breathe the smoke)
-Using a hack saw, cut through all the metal rings still inside your suspension arms. Use a screwdriver/awl/chisel and hammer to remove them the rest of the way.
-Grease all the new bushings really well, and then you may need a mallet to "force" them into your arms...
-Reassemble suspension, enjoy feeling every pebble on the road.

I d/led a Helms for a 93 Prelude so don't worry about the manual.

I'll be taking pics and doing a writeup unless I find one.

I replaced every bushing on my car with ES. I used a press to get every single one out too. It is a lot easier with a press, or taking them to a machine shop. But it is possible without one.

took me a few days, but i only worked on it a couple hours each. pulled the suspension apart, then took the pieces to a local shop and had them pressed out. it was pretty simple actually. hardest part was putting it all back together.

w/out a press, man its a PITA. I would suggest using a press. the Trailing arm bushings are daym near impossible w/out using a press. But its worth it to upgrade to the poly urethane bushings from ES. Car feels good now.
