Wrecked my Lude this morning @#$%

yep... on my way to work this morning .... I kinda fell asleep and rammed a civic hatchback. ... I think the car will be totalled from what the dude at the body shop was telling me... what sucks is that I still owe bout $2k on it.

Some of the pics were taken with a camera phone so the quality isn't all that great.

Before:

After:

if it gets totalled I may buy it back from the body shop and either sell some parts or try to get it fixed (depending on how much it'll cost).

hey i did the same exact thing opposite tho(i didnt fall asleep) but mine didnt get totalled out it just gave me excuse to buy new after market parts, I bought a radiator support from wreckdriver who he might still have that side left and had it welded in.

well, the lady driving the civic wasn't strapped in so she hit her head against the windshield and was bleeding real bad.... thatmade me feel pretty bad. She was OK though I wasn't driving too fast... probably 35 mph or so.

I'll just have to wait and see what the insurance adjuster says.... if they total it.. I'd be screwed cuz they pay the bank and take the car away... I can probably buy it back and sell the parts because repairing it is going to cost me well over 3K...

Ouch, that really sucks. Sorry dude. But glad that the both of you are OK. It doesn't look too bad. It seems like the wheel and shock mount is untouched. I don't think it will be totaled, but getting it fixed may be a bit pricey.

Dibs on the fogs, if you do part it out.

yep, airbags deployed... so that's another reason why the body shop suggests it will be totaled. The airbags are close to $1k each.

it will be totaled. Buying it back should be cheap. I just picked up a 94 vtec with similar damage for well under 1k. The good thing is that u were able to walk away from this one. Remember, its just a car, ur health/life is worth more than any car. Learn from this expierence and hopefully there will be no next time.

Tell the insurance co. that you will have the airbags fixed yourself. They should take care of the front end damage. Also, if they do total the lude and give you a lowball figure, you can go to an independent appraisal agency. One of my cousins did that & the insurance co. accepted the independent agencies figure (which was 1200.00 higher). On a good note, glad you are okay.

I would think that once the Air bags deploy.. that the car would be considered total..

I know this SUCKS.... I still want my '96 VTEC... I will do whatever I can to get it fixed, if not I may look into Jeremy's Car (4Bidden) or go all out and get me a G35 coupe. Either way I will try to buy it back from the insurance and either try to get it fixed or sell all the aftermarket parts we'll see.
