would removing the silencer on my 4th lude be a good thing?(trying to make it louder)
i was wondering if removing the silencer from my 4 th gen would be a stupid idea, or should i just get a better air intake? are there any bad effects from removing the silencer? (besides ricing your car out)
And by remove do you mean replace the entire exhaust (catback as opposed to just a muffler) with one that flows better and is louder? Depends on which exhaust you want really. The cheap crap tends to make Hondas sound like lawnmowers
I think you guys are confused on the topic. This sounds like a pure intake question and not an exhaust one.
Sounds like he wants to know if removing the intake resonator will make it louder, and have any negative effects or should he just get an aftermarket intake.

Ha yea makes sense now. These questions get harder and harder to answer every week
you really wont get a lot of extra power from an aftermarket intake. removing the silencer will probly add some sound but im not sure if it will make it sound any better. it takes at least 5 pounds off your front end tho so thats always a plus. Just get an Ebay Intake and stick a K&N filter on it thats probly the best route its cheap and works just as well as a AEM one you just dont have the CARB sticker.
