Is this a worthwhile mod?

Saw this on eBay and it makes sense but wanted to see what you all think.

The use them in Civic Hatbacks and the like but I really don't think it's necessary in a Prelude at all..It's a fairly stiff car compared to a civic.

Yeah, but it doesn't go on the seat... it goes on the floor carpeting. Who sits back there anyway, except for us white guys who run into transporting 2-3 Asian shorties every now and then, like I do in Hermosa Beach, hehe????

I have had my car for over a year and I still haven't had anyone ride back there. I just pick the cutest of the bunch and take her. I still won't invest in one of those bars. Looks like an upside down close hanger!

Is that just due to the 4WS computer being in the way?

A) do we really know that bar doesn't flex and
B) how are you going to mount it - are you gonna cut up your trim and then just bolt it on to the frame?

bah!

Yeah... the 4WS computer is in the way. I have heard that it is possible to relocate the computer.

If it was a well made car and mounted properly it would be a good mod....especially with the preludes longer wheelbase..

Also a bar across the rear deck would be a good idea...Accord SiR-Ts have them....

But I would rather buy something from Spoon, Mugen etc.... that I trust

Mine is 4WS and had a rear STB when it arrived from Japan, so it can be done.

yeah but where the passenger put their legs? most of my passangers don't even have enough space to put their legs when there's nothing there

If you look at the bar...it's contoured to the the floor...so it's just like a bump....

I would try one out for less $$. I'll e-mail him about install for fun.

If you're gonna do it, do it right. As far as I know, BOMZ racing makes some pretty cheap schit. I would be worried about fitment and manufacturing quality.

Then just dont have people ride in the rear seats. I havent had anyone ride back there for over a year. The only reason those seats are there is for insurance purposes. Too small to serve any real purpose.
