worldsport exhaust, good, bad, ...?

I was going to get a custom dual exhaust made but now I'm thinking of getting the apex'i worldsport exhaust. Has anyone seen a dyno chart of the hp gains on an si lude. I heard an audio clip on this site about a month ago and it sounded pretty tough. Does it sound like that in real life? Does anyone know anything about this exhaust?

havent heard that before, and i cant speak from personal experience . but its supposed to sound better but still be quiet, give some low end torque and a bit of hp. it doesnt by any means give massive gains, but i think it helps some

heres review of the apexi ws

written by Jamie on hondaprelude.com, very helpful and complete, here it is

"For anyone who's curious, here's the first-day impression.

Initial impression: Looked really good in the box -- everything wrapped and packed neatly. The 2.25" pipe is in three pieces -- a short, straight pipe (about a foot) that bolts to the cat, the S-pipe with the resonator, and the section welded to the muffler. The pipe is coated steel, and feels pretty substantial -- I don't expect this to rust any faster than the stock system (which only rusted at the muffler -- and took 9 years to do it!). All flanges are neatly welded. The muffler is stainless steel, except for the forward face where the exhaust pipe is welded on, which is aluminized steel. A 3-inch tip -- basically, a stainless steel tube -- finshes it off.

Installation: Couldn't be easier. Everything bolts right up, and all the necessary hardware and gaskets are included. There are complete installation instructions included, but it's so straightforward that they're not really necessary. Removing the three rusted-on bolts connecting the old exhaust pipe to the cat was the most difficult part (I took it to someone with an air-powered saw and a torch for that...). It's necessary to remove the lower heat shield from the cat to get at those bolts -- I left it off, since it looks like it would rattle against the flange to the larger exhaust pipe. The system is designed to use the stock hangers, and has the appropriate hooks welded onto the pipe and muffler -- everything lined up perfectly.

On the car -- underneath: The pipe *does* hang noticeably lower than the stock system. I believe that's both to make sure the larger exhaust pipe clears the suspension in the back, and to elminate the possibility of it rattling against the upper heat shield. This *might* be an issue for cars lowered more than a couple of inches. The pipe handily clears the lower A-arm and sway bar as it meets the muffler, and it looks like there's enough room to mount a 25mm rear sway bar without clearance problems.

On the car -- looks and sound: The exhaust looks good sticking out the back -- like it was designed for the car (which is what Apex'i says they're aiming for with the WS series). It's quiet at idle -- no attention from the police at stoplights -- and a bit louder and deeper-toned than the stock system when you put your foot into it. Stay with it, and the deeper tone underlies the typical howl Honda engines get at WOT. Back off the gas to cruise, and there's just enough noise to remind you it's there, without being annoying on a long drive. I don't need to attract any more attention than I already do on the road, so this is exactly what I needed.

Performance: I can't tell any difference between this and the stock system -- but coupled up to the stock exhaust manifold, I didn't expect to gain enough to feel. I certainly haven't lost anything (again, measured on the butt dyno).

For the first day, at least, I'm happy with the system. I got mine from KONE Performance Parts (thanks John!)."

Does anyone have any dyno results? I can't believe that someone would make an aftermaket exhaust that gives no hp gains. Is there actually none, or is it just so small it doesn't even make a difference?

If I can't get hp gains from the ws then what is a good quiet exhaust with decent hp gains? I don't want something you can hear a mile away but I do wnat something that gives me decent hp gains? Is there anything out there?!

try a Greddy Sp.

Looks and sounds badass...good gains.

If you need a little more agressive, try the Greddy PE or Evo.

Seems like the more power you want, the more louder it's gonna be.

What will it be??

well,, i want this exhaust, but in all honesty, exhausts arent for power, and most of our cars get minimal gains from these things
and they are for looks.. they make close to no power for quite a bit of money.. unless you're all out power, there is no point in asking for power numbers.. because you wont get anything from an exhaust frankly. but looks and sound is what they're for pretty much.. i'm going to get this when i'm ready

Apex'i fan!!!

Go Apex'i! I guess it all comes down to how loud you want it to be. the WS is the most quiet exhaust on the market. it will never make u say "damn i need a silencer" and the complements you will receive at the drag strip are endless. i love hearing "wow, thats the only Honda out here not sounding like a lawn mower or a 'bee in a can' ".

I noticed a difference off the line once the WS was installed. i was able to pull in 2.2 60 foot times consistently and people that say it doesnt give any hp gains are a bit off. i now run a 15.01 with my Si.

If anyone wants video clips of it PM me. I have 4 clips of it in action. any questions about the WS system PM me or hit me up on AIM at sporttheimport.

take care,
tim

I sill believe this was the best mod for my Prelude next to my DC header btw

i used to run an apexi ws on my old accord hybrid which was n/a and then custom turbo.

now i'm running it on my 4g vtec prelude.

asian1, show us your dynos. that's bs.
the system is mandrel bent, bigger piping. thought the muffler isn't straight-through it's not anywhere restrictive compared to stock. and you claim you lost power to stock.

with any exhaust on a somewhat stock car, you won't gain huge numbers. you'll barely feel anythign with the but dyno. the exhaust is more of a mod to complete the package. on some cars, the gains are huge. but on hondas they are modest at best. unless you're running a stock civic exhaust on an h22a civic. then you'll notice about 10whp.

i ran the apexi ws with my turbo and had test-pipes on both of my cars. this is the only exhaust on the market that you can really run with a test pipe and be quiet daily.

it's a great exhaust for the money. i've gotten both of mine for $350shipped.
with a straight through on an otherwise stock honda, you might notice maybe 1whp more. but not even that.
