Wings West Big Mouth Bumper and Kit Owners Please Read !!!!!!
I have a few questions for anyone with a WW Big Mouth Kit. First do the side skirts simply glue on to the stock side skirts or do they completely replace them. Also i was wondering if anyone is using the big mouth bumper with the stock side skirts if so could you please post a few pictures particularly from a side angle so i can see how the bumper matches the stock side skirts. Also could you rate the quality of the bumper on a 1 - 10 scale. Also is any modifications required to install he bumper, and what kind of turn signals do you use or does the bumper come with a set.
Wow no ones replied to this. I had my ww big mouth kit and have had it on the car for about 3 months now (I've got sum pics but I used a sh!t digi camera so the res is pretty bad, thats why haven't posted them)
To answer your questions:
1)First do the side skirts simply glue on to the stock side skirts or do they completely replace them - they replace them, the old ones come off completely, there living in my garage still atm
2)Also i was wondering if anyone is using the big mouth bumper with the stock side skirts if so could you please post a few pictures particularly from a side angle so i can see how the bumper matches the stock side skirts
Sorry its not very good, but you can just about see the side of the sills and bumper (getting dropped v v soon - another reason why I haven't posted)
3) Also could you rate the quality of the bumper on a 1 - 10 scale - its a 10, really well made bumper, however I'm going to reinforce the bottom of it, its a little flexible
4) Also is any modifications required to install he bumper, and what kind of turn signals do you use or does the bumper come with a set
- again a poor image but you can just see the indicators behind the mesh on the front right of the car, these come with the kit
I just wanted to say that not many people have this kit... Why? I think it's the cleanest looking kit of all. But that's a good thing so I'll be more original when I get mine
Awesome cars guys they look great , so what do u guys think i should do paint the stock sides or ditch'em in favor of the WW , i don't really like the back of the WW Big Mouth kit that goes on the rear bumper so i think i may just leave mine alone. Also PreludeNL does your friend who has the stock sides painted also have a WW big mouth if so would it be possible to get a picture from him maybe , the first pic on here is exactly what i was hoping for except it could be zoomed out just a tad so you can better see the relation in height between the side skirts and bumper. Once again thank you guys very much for the info your making my decision very easy.
As everyone already mentioned the fit and finish of the bumper is a 10. You will get the signal lights to mount behind the mesh grill (made by Hella) and also side marker for you fenders.
As for the Wings West sides and rear, I didn't care for them (especially the rear) so I ended up with Kaminari sides and rear.
I just wonder how much you guys paid for the lip? And how much is the paint job cost ?

I have had mine for a while and have scraped a few times and still pretty perfect it is definetly a 10. I had my stock side skirts painted and it looks really good with the bumper lots of compliments.
the front end fits perfectly. The turnsignals do have to be reqired. The side skirts replace the factory skirts. and if you had just the front end, it does not match up to factory side skirts very good imo.
If interseted my pics of my car with the bigmouth kit can be seen here: http://www.angelfire.com/biz6/lancesexoticimports , I want to thank Mark94 for all the help regarding the kit which is great to me.

I've got the same set up as mark94, but I will probably change my sideskirts to the RS one's by wings west. I like the twist in them. It adds a little more style. The Kaminari sides look real clean though, and the Kaminari rear piece you just can't beat. I've heard of problems with the WW RS rear lip and muffler clearance. That urethane will melt. Some have to adust their muffler hangers to lower thier exhaust, or you can trim the RS lip. I made the mistake of letting the bodyshop talk me into them installing the kit. That was dumb. I had to fix a lot of stuff they messed up, and I could have done a better job myself. As far as rating the Big mouth it's gotta be one of the nicest looking plus its urethane (more durable), comes with lights, and grill pre=installed (and it's not just gutter guard, it's the real stuff).
I would like to thank everyone who replied so far, but I am looking for one more thing and hopefully someone out there has this. I need some pictures of a 4th gen lude with the Wings west big mouth front bumper and stock side skirts , but the bumper and side skirts need to be painted to match the car. If anyone has this setup or pics of it i would greatly appreciate if you could post or direct me to a site with them.
I think a lot of people don't have it cause it;s a whole bumper and therefore more expensive....people are cheap. And other than the bumper it's the RS kit so how many people drop the extra cash when it's 3/4 RS?
Not a bad site for an hour and a half. I have a white lude and the one on your site is what I would love to do to mine but with out the eyebrows. Thanks to you I now know what my car would look like with a kit like that.
Thank You Prelude NL that is almost perfect , the ideal thing i would like is a picture just like ds2000's first picture on this thread except zoomed out , my major concern is are the stock sides low enough to match the front bumper , and ideally they need to be painted cause with the stock black sides u can't tell where the skirt ends and the undercar darkness or shadow begins. So if anyone else has any pics , what i need is one of WW big mouth bumper with stock side skirts both painted to match car and a shot from the side just like the first pick on this post but zoomed out so u can see about a foot or more of the side skirt and about a foot of the bumper, I hate to keep requesting things and your guys have all been an excellent help, but if a picture is out there i'm gona find it lol.
Just painting the stock side skirts will not give the illusion of aftermarket skirts. The Wings West bumper hangs considerably lower than the stock side skirts.
I have the big mouth bumper with Kaminari sides and the front bumper still hangs a little lower than the sides. The Kaminari sides slide right over the stock skirts so you know they are a decent size, but even with that in mind they still don't line up with the front bumper.
You should definitely get some sort of side skirts because in my opinion it looks like something is missing without them - the car looks VERY unbalanced. Here is a side profile of mine.
Mark94s spot on, you really will have to have a look at getting some sideskirts, not flaming PreludeNL at all but it does looks a little odd without the sideskirts.
Yeah I know it looks kinda odd.. specially when they're still black like mine.. but I'm working on it. I'm making my own custom sides so you'll see them as soon as I have them finished.
Only problem is that I then have to find something for the rear, otherwise that will seem odd.
Well PreludeNL I think i may have your answer for the rear , I don't know what the side skirts you are making look like but i suggest u have a look at this thread cause this seems like a very good option for the rear of a prelude.
This person uses the stock trim from a 94-95 accord rear bumper and modifies it slightly to fit the prelude, just a small amount of trimming and cutting is necessary. This also seems like an excellent option because all 3 pieces can be bought new from Honda for around $80.00 much cheaper than any rear skirt i have seen, and in my opinion alittle better looking too because it isn't as radical as some of the aftermarket rear skirts.

I believe these are the correct pieces although i would make sure you fully read the other thread to check me on this before ordering anything, I hope this helps you with your rear skirt dilemma PreludeNL , I think this is what I plan to do with mine also.
