Will this switch fit a 1994-1996?

Will the fog switch in this picture fit in the 4 holes under the armrest?:

The switches are I'm guessing from 1991-1992 JDM Preludes (1992-1993 USDM).

They do. I just bought the exact same thing in the pic you posted... the 4 switch panel w/ the storage hole + the half mast & fog switches. I took the switches out and put them in the holes under the armrest. I'll take a pic in a little while and post it.

Kind of going off topic... but one thing I find pretty stupid is that the fog light logo lights up (provided that you wire it to do so,) but the half mast switch logo does NOT light up. The indicator lights on the other hand to light up on both.

Is the wiring the same for the foglights? Meaning the harness plug found taped underneath the shifter area will plug directly or do you have to wire it up yourself?

In the 1994-1996 Preludes, we have 4 holes laid horizontally that are above the cup holders and underneath the armrest. They were meant for things such as fog light switches, heated seats, half mast antenna, and the list go ones.

The JDM switch wiring is different from USDM since there are less wires. I found this the other day because I have yet to do the wiring for my switch. Right now my switch isn't plugged in and is just taking up space.

JDM > USDM

red/yel > red/yel
black > red/green
red black > orange

For the fog switch I'm actually going to add 2 wires to the switch so that the fog logo will illuminate when I turn on my parking lights (I rigged it with a blue LED). For the indicators I'm using red LEDs.

Brian, if you can find that switch for me - I'll seriously give you money. I've seeked out every prelude board, scoured over ebay for weeks and months, sent parts request email blasts through various nationwide junkyards, and etc. This switch is seriously impossible to find, and although I know it's a waiting game - I'd like to get it now.

Whoever has one...I'll pay top dollar for it

Seriously... I've been searching eBay for it for a long time... I finally gave in and bought the JDM switch.

yea the wiring it correct. i have done this. i used a JDM switch and wired it properly using the wiring code as above. i made a thread on here about how to use the JDM switch. search for it.

the switch will fit in one of the 4 holes under the arm rest.

Ok I finished rigging the 2 extra wires to illuminate the backlight.

There are 6 pins for wires to come out of, however, in the JDM switch there are only 3 wires. Let's number each of the pins accordingly.

[1][2][3][4]
[5] . . . . [6]

The JDM switch uses pins 1, 3 and 6.
1 = red/black
3 = red/yellow
6 = black

I added wires to pins 2 & 4. Pin 2 is the solid red wire (this splices into a 12v power source that is on when the parking lights are turned on). The wire I added in pin 4 is a solid black wire for ground. I simply spliced that into the current ground wire (pin 6), so that I don't need to run an extra wire.

Pin 5 is never used in my setup.

I retro-fitted 2 LEDs in my switch so that the indicator light is red instead of green, and the backlight is blue instead of green (or for JDM style, amber?).

All I have left to do is find that stupid connector or relay for the oem fogs & hook the wires up.

I'm not too familiar with electrical work, but how did you connect those 2 wires into the plug?

Good question, I kind of forgot to explain that.

I have a bunch of electronics parts at home, and I just dug out a female contact. You can buy these contacts/prongs that you crimp onto the end of the wires and then go into the switch harness. Just go to either a Radio Shack or Home Depot and look for some that are similar to what are already in the switch.

If you don't have any luck there, try http://www.jameco.com They have a HUGE selection of all kinds of wire plugs. Just an idea of what you'll need: http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/sto...oductId=307993
That's kind of what it looks like.

Jameco has never failed me when it comes to looking for electronics parts. They rule. Only downside is sometimes you have to order in bulk.

So that female contact from the jameco website crimps directly onto the wire, which plugs into the plug?

Yes, but like I said, it's just to give you an idea of what you need. It is not the exact one... so don't click the link and purchase that item. I don't know the exact one to buy either... I used a couple crimps that I had in my garage.
