will a SI Auto tranny bolt up to a jdm H22 ?

basically as title says just need to know if a 96 Si's stock tranny will bolt up to a h22 vtec ?
or should i just spend the extra and do the manual swap when i put in the h22?
I am planning on doing the auto to manual swap anyway, just was thinknig about waiting until i have more money to do it.

thanx for your help,
Eric

Personally i'm of the opinion that you shouldn't do something unless you can do it right. Why would you go get a JDM H22 and then put on an auto tranny (especially one with crappy gearing) that will just rob you of most of the power you just gained with the H22. IMO, do it all at once if there is any way you can afford it.

yeah i def was not happy about the idea of having to use the auto till i could afford the manual swap 2... it just makes more sense to do it all at once... sigh loan time

yeild fyi check out your gearing sheets again the h23 tranny is just as good as most h22 trannys or better depends what u want out of it the h23 has longer gears.

I figure if you are so keen on getting more power that you'd pay for a H22 swap then you should get the most potential out of it. Of course it all depends what you want it for but the H23 is not as good as the H22 if we're talking NA acceleration. I don't know about the automatic ratios (i'm sure it's even worse) but if you put a manual SI tranny on an H22 you will be falling out of vtec between shifts and hurting your acceleration.
