I have a 1992 Prelude S and it has a blown F22A1 in it. My friend has a F22B2 for sale and I was wondering if that would bolt right up. I guess it came out of a 94+ Honda Accord. Can someone back me up?
u will neee the accord tranny too...i found out the hard way that accord engines ar slanted slightly...so either get the tranny too or ur tranny wont completely bolt up...it will work but wont bolt properly.....also if the f22b2 is the SOHC vtec accord engine ur gunna need a vtec solenoid too

believe me it wont boplt completely up...i know......i had the exact opposite happen with me and my friend.....i got the h22 LSD tranny for my S(dont ask y i just did) and the last bolt for the linkage wont bolt...if you do you wont be able to get out of gear or shift.......my friend put a f22b1(i think) in his 92 lude.....he had to get the accord motor mounts for eveything to fit properly.....its not a direct bolt up...its is with mild adjustments

check www.honda-tech.com someobdy has f22b2 and has bolted it up with h22 a head and TRANSMISSION ..
just one thing needed to be removed ..
the f22b2 block is iron sleeved from factory and if i recall was SOHC ? .. check the thread, theres on page 2 explanations/pictures of all differences.
Matt, that honda-tech thread proves it will work. The tranny (which you already have in obviously works) will bolt up to the f22b2 block (proved by the HT thread). And Andrew, the guy you might buy the engine from has had a million accord's (5th gen accord/4th gen prelude's=almost identical), I'm pretty sure he would know.
Well hey I wasn't 100% positive who was right and I still had questions. And Andrew basically went balistic on my ass just cuz I said I wasn't sure I wanted to buy it. What the heck is that dudes problem anway??? I personally will not go to his place to get the motor now, if you wanna pick it up for me, I would get you the money and a little more for picking it up.
