k, i just checked they're 195/60(at least the ones that are on mine)...maybe they're 205 on the 16" stocks...

i was lookin at some tire site and they gave an option of 215/50/15...is that possible on a stock lude rim??

a 205 50 15 would be too small for daily driving, track use would be ok though. a 215 50 15 will fit since the rim is 6 inches wide, but that is a limited size and will cost $$.

cause it's a size teg and civic owners like to run on 15s. it's too small, it'll throw off the speedo and odometer a noticeable amount. it may also not have a sufficient load rating for the lude. it also makes it look like you have more fender gap.

It throws your speedo off by 1MPH which isnt noticable, and it doesn't show much more fender gap at all. As for load rating, I have had no problems whatsoever. In fact I get better handling from the lower profile. Now, I just need to wait til April for the new Teins so I can eliminate the gap alltogether.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

3.4% too fast, also tirerack.com says you should not exceed +-3% of your stock size.

i agree better handling, that's why i say for the track not commuting.

like i said 205 50 15 is what many teg and civics roll on, those cars are a 300-500lbs lighter. tirerack also has load rating for tirespec, look at what a 205 50 15 v 205 55 15 is. 205 50 15 is for small cars that weigh around 2,500lbs not 2,800-2,950lbs ludes.

if you have the prelude alloys that are 15's..you can use a 205/55/15 or a 215/50/15....now the 215/50/15 is a little wider...also i just got 4 brand new Kumho 215/50/15s...theyre 47 bucks a piece right now..theyre the Ecsta 711s..very nice tire..im impressed with them so far..it was 188 bucks for all 4..and 40 bucks shipping, so the 215/50/15 you can get very cheap...theyre at www.tirerack.com...hope this helps ya out bro..peace

thanks...it all helps me out...everytime i post here i get good answers, thanks again!

now to decide whether it's gonna be 215/50 or 215/55...i'm a daily driver, but i prefer handling over comfort...

is there a danger of the tire blowing easier if the 215/50 is made for a light car?? or what is the main concern with that...tire wear?

nooooooo....215/50 is the same size as a 205/55..they were saying a 205/50 would be less able to handle the loads of the heavier car...215.50 is the plus size zero for a 205/55..it will be exactly the same outside diameter as your stock 205/55s yet be 10mm wider...and u can get them for 47 a piece, thats dirt cheap for good performance tires..peace
