wierd vtec engagement - Honda Prelude Forum

i was getting on the highway the other week in third gear and smashed on it, when vtec engaged i got this extreme loud noise and it appeared to hav a lose in power, i had an extra vtec solinoid and swapped the old one thinking this could be the problem. the other day i was going through the gears and once again it happened. it hadhppened a few times before as well i cant figure it out. i would say it sounds almost is like a miss fire maybe. i help appreciated

Is it every now and then? or consistent at all? But normally when you get a miss and you try to romp on it, at least in mine...you can almost feel the car just kinda fall back for a split second and then pick up again. Has the check engine light ever came on when it does it?

no never cel, and its not all the time just occasionallyl never felt ny thing like it my gsr never has done this like i said occasionaly it will get extremely loud when vtec hits (its not the normal vtec noise ) but its very loudalmost the sound of a rev limiter but keeps slowly accelerating

no one has never experienced this. it did it again and i still cant figure it out. are there any kind of checks to do to figure out the problem
