I mean its basically the same thing, same engine, I am in dropping in a JDM H22A, I am almost done pulling out my H23 BUT i need an engine hoist, anyways why won't they fit if they are the same engines?? I am not talking about the Type SH i mean shouldn't Mugen Headers for a 5th gen base fit on a 4th gen VTEC??? Whats the difference?
the A-pipe is a different length, and if I'm not mistaken has a different flange that bolts up to the cat. If you are doing a custom exhaust, any header from any H22A, H22A1, or H22A4 will bolt up fine.

thats not the problem, this guy around my way is selling Mugen Headers for a Base Prelude for $500, and I have Greddy Headers in a box Brand new awaiting the completion of my engine swap, I wanna know if they fit so I can sell my Greddy Headers and go fo Mugen... I don't get the how its different for the H22A1 and H22A4.... if they sell headers for 93+ Prelude VTEC's except SH models...
Just keep the Greddy header. I have dyno tested both, and the results are quite similar with the greddy making about 2.7hp more at peak. You can call up Kingmotorsports, and they can get you a Mugen Header for a 4th gen. That's where I bought mine. It was about 950 bucks. I currently have the Greddy on the car, and sold the Mugen about 8 months ago. Greddy all the way.

oo ok kewl man, thanx for that little bit of info... Greddy all the way it is
I have done some testing on the H23 as well. And believe it or not most of the headers I tested for it performed about the same. There wasn't really one header that outshined the rest. For the money, DC ceramic is a great choice. Just use a tap and clean the threads out on the O2 sensor bung.

Thanks James, while I've got the header off, I'm going to put a new O2 sensor in there. I figure I'll have a difficult time taking the old one out anyway, plus I think mine may not be working correctly...
