Why did I get beat?

Last night downtown there was this other prelude (4th gen) and all he said he had was exhaust. He even offered to show me under his hood. Although I never did look under the hood because I somehow believed he was telling the truth. Anyway, he "said" that all he had was exhaust. He's got an H23 and I have the JDM H22 with Intake and Exhaust. At a few stop lights we ran em and he ****in whooped me like a Suburu WRX that I have raced before. My question is why did I get my ass handed to me by an H23???

He prob. got you off the launch from the more plentiful torque.

Other than that, if he beat you and ya'll at least got to third gear, then i don't know what to say.......

Learn to drive?

Man, I held it in there through second gear. And all he did was keep going. He had to have internals or some ****.

WRX's are supercharged. And this was at an actual race location at night where we race. I raced him twice and there is no way in hell I would have beaten him. Course then again I had my USDM H22 and only an Intake....

Wow! WRX's are s/c'ed?

I think he either had more mods than he said or your car isn't running right or you don't know how to drive. A JDM H22 in a Lude should be a solid second faster than an H23 Lude.

1)WRXs are turbocharged

2)WRXs shine from a launch because of the AWD

3)It is possible for the H22A, especially the JDM H22A on a 4th gen to beat a WRX from a roll.

if it was off the lauch i can believe it that he took you, but still tho, as a h23 driver its i can tell u its hard to beat h22, unless u know your car pretty well All i have is i/h/e.. I ve beaten a few, and kept up with some, but after that 2nd gear, they either tend to catch up quick, or pull, but not by much. they usually get about half a car lenth. They never pulled away on me. tho 1 h22 smoked me, but he was heavily built. I could tell by the idle on the sucker.

a H23 will pull away until VTEC kicks in.. if the run isn't long enough to get deep into 3rd the H23 will pull away..

hmmm, maby you should race slp-mode. he could use a confidence booster. haha

My jdm h22a can be very incosistant. One day it feels like it has crazy power and the next it feels like im driving an accord. Honestly even on my bad days i still dont think a h23 would beat me. But like they say, if it was a short race then he may be able to pull it off.

If you both had a similar launch i would expect the h23 to be ahead and you be at his door, but high second you should pull on him like he missed a gear, then 3rd you should be at high rpms after the shift and keep pulling.

Maby he had a hybrid then he wouldnt be technically lying. Did you hear him hit vtec?

if he was stock and you had a good launch, i would suggest a compression test/new plugs.
