Basically wider selection of rims. And with the 5lug u can do big brake kits from brembo, aem, rotora etc (kits that actually use bigger calipers and rotors).

The main benefit of a 5 lug conversion is that even with stock brakes you get better braking distances....

Just think about the physics behind it. If your trying to stop an object, which will stop better, the object that is attached in four places or an object that is attached in 5 places.

both are equal.....more force is just transfered to the one with less lugs, the force is more distributed to the one with more lugs thats all

torque on the lug nuts is less with 5 lugs than 4 lugs since you dont need as much force to secure the wheel per lug. Thats why the enzo and carrera GT need HUGE amounts of force to take off their one lug racing wheels

also cuz 5th gen wheels > 4th gen wheels

actually I believe any caliper made to fit a 5th gen will fit a 4th gen, but yeah, since it's made for the 5th gen rotor, it would make sense to do the conversion, unless you can find a 4-lug rotor just big enough (but not too big) to fit with the spoon calipers.

or you could simply re-drill the 5 lug rotors and have it fit a 4 lug. Many 240sx people do this when upgrading to the 300zx brake calipers.
