I recommend a Clifford alarm. Installing may take some time if it is ur first time. Just purchase a Helms wit some wiring diagrams and you should be set and then just Find a good place besides the steering column to put ur alarm brain..

most certainly you get what you pay for. I've been installing for 8 years now and I can tell you, DEI is the ONLY way to go.
DEI manufactures brands like Viper and Python, plus several others. Check their website for places to buy.

PS: Yes, I have a Viper system on mine and its great.

I agree with everyone that posted above, that dont go cheap, you get what you pay for. DEI is great, they have great products and everything is great quality. I myself am a compustar dealer, so i install nothing but compustar, for 2way alarms, i have yet to find anything that comes close to compustar in functionality or quality.
How does the Compustar 2-way compare to the Viper 2-way. Are the both digital, do both have about the same range. What are the benefits for both brands?
www.compustar.org That will give you all the info on the compustar. I would say the compustar technology gives way better range than anything else on the market.

Thanks for the website.
They have a 4th gen as a sponsored car, pretty cool
ha <<<<< compustar owner...........pretty good for what i need and i really like it.........nothing like being in class and knowing i could be halfway across campus and if i'm near a window i will get signal.......
btw preludestud......is there anyway to program a lil one way pager i bought?? i have the regular compustar (not small fm one) and i got it installed by a dealer, i think he used custom programing because the small backup 1 way pager i got off ebay doesn't link up when i go into learning mode........anyway around this? since i can't readily get to him (4 hours away.......yeah i drove 4 hours to get my compustar) also my pager randomly sometimes sets off the remote paging right after the passive arms the system.......reasons why?

Well one reason the smaller remote might now work it might not be the remote for the system. If you are using the 2wss system you would have to have the smaller remote with the spread spectrum technology, if you are using the 2w900fm then you would have the have the smaller remote with the 900mhz fm technology. and as to why it sets it off when it passivly arms, i have no idea.
That should work. Thats the same remote i use with my 2wss system. hmm. How exactly are you trying to program the remote into the system. You have to turn the key to the first step, then turn it to the second and back to the first 5 times in a row, then on the last one you leave it at the second one then you should push the lock/unlock button on the remote and the alarm should learn the remote.
well yeah i'm doing that above but my friend also got the same alarm from the same dealer.......do you think cause he programs using a computer?? would this mean i would have to go to him to program it??? man this sucks
i also want to get the trunk popper and auto start......but jeez wish someone in dallas area could do this
