WHo has installed JDM Folding mirrors on a USDM car before?

Are they just plug and play? I have heated mirrors right now. Can I just plug them into the existing plug?

I hope! I dont wanna start messing around with the wiring. Do you think that I can make them fold if I program them 2 my 2nd channel on my alarm?
So I hit the button the on the alarm and they fold? You know what im sayin?

My alarm has 2 spare channels.

i never thought about using the spare channel on my alarm, but i'd assume you could make it work. my alarm has two spare channels too, but i used one of them for window roll-up. i'm sure you could use something similar to a window roll-up actuator on the mirrors. i'm going to take my mirrors to the guy who installed my alarm this summer and mabye he can hook them up. i'll either get them to work with alarm arm/unarm or mabye i'll use the free channel. he's installed motorized mirrors on his teg so he'll probibly know what to do. if by summer you haven't found the answer, i'll try and make a write-up.

has anyone ever put the mirrors from the USDM housing into the JDM folding housing? this would make the the reflections better as the JDMs are for right hand drive...
Someone who has done it - is it very hard?

Speak of the devil.

Well, last night I just finished installing my JDM mirrors on my car. I wired them to a switch for now, so that they opn and close using just a flip switch cause I didnt want to chance messing anything up wtih the alarm system. Next, in any case, they will not be plug and play. BUT, if you have the mirrors with heaters(i'm guessing you're in canada) then you can at least use the same harness, whereas here in the states, I had to cut the wires and re-wire things. In aeither case, you will still have to add wiring for the folding motor. It was very easy to do.
If you guys have any quastions let me know.

about swapping the actual mirror...well I actually like the JDM ones because instead of only one side being onvex(in US, the passenger), they are both convex and so you get more view(like a broadway rearview mirror), just for the sides of your car But I suppose you could..

there was a write up with pics awhile back. . .it might have been for a different car though. I cant seem to remember the link though. Have you tried doing a search. I know you can wire them to an alarm.
