Who has a friend in Germany?? -- Nice strut tower bar

Why? Because i just found a sweet strut tower bar lol, made by Wiechers Sport of Germany:

and their web page for strut tower bars. Their best version for the Prelude is about 140 Euros, looks beefier than a Neuspeed and nicer than a Spoon.

okay, who lives in Germany? I want one.

I live in The Netherlands, next to germany maybe I'll try it out myself... thx for the tip hehe
Only I haven't got a clue how much the shipping would be over here, so if I will send them over to the states it can be more expensive than directly from germany.

Wo sind die Deutschers?!

Once you get something rigid that won't deform in there, it's not going to make any difference how "beefy" it is.

... but it LOOKS beefy lol.

any yes, that engine bay is by far the absolute dirtiest, most filthy habitat for an engine I've ever seen.

well if you ever do get in contact with them or a store that sells the bars (just run a yahoo search for 'Weichers Sport' to find some retailers), see if they won't ship directly to the states.

damn and i thought my engine bay was dirty.

Is it me, or does that strut bar seem just not to fit right in the ludes bay?
I'd rather sport a nice clean polished spoon one.

well they make it for the car, so I imagine there's no fitment problems. I called them, pretty friendly actually, even though their website shows them catering pretty much solely to the bavarian crowd, he said he'd check on the price and availability and would get back to me later. He didn't give me a price because he didn't have one, but he "guessed" comparing it to the WS bars for the BMWs, and said somewhere around 200 (ouch), but a) that's a guess and b) if other people are interested maybe we could get some kind of a group buy going and see if a better price can be had.

on a side note ... i have this undying urge to find who the owner of that car is, fly out to them and clean their engine bay at no cost, just because the sight of it bothers me lol.

PPS BZRKbb4, thank you for the help

not fit as it fitment

fit as it, style wise; but that doesn't matter as long as it does the job

ok, guy got back to me already:

Quote:
Adam,

Thanks for your inquiry. Here are the options I can offer:

FRONT STRUT BARS:

Honda Prelude 2,2i+2,3i (Bj. 92-96)

171008 (steel)
$159 + $15 shipping
172008 (aluminum)
$199 + $12 shippinh

These mount using the existing strut tower fasteners.

REAR STRUT BARS:

Honda Prelude (ab Bj. 92)

175004 (steel)
$69 + $12 shipping
176004 (aluminum)
$99 + $10 shipping

The rear bars require that you drill holes and bolt these to the shock towers to install.

If you get a set (front and rear), we will ship them together and deduct $7 from the shipping (vs. shipping individually). I can get these but will have to order and import them from Germany. Finally, if you buy 10 or more of a particular part at a time, I can offer 10% off these prices.
I e-mailed him back regarding the color, I'm pretty sure the steel comes in red, but the aluminum just comes in a polished finish much like the Neuspeed and Spoon. Even with a group rate, it's still kinda steep at $190 shipped for the lighter aluminum bar, but I like the design of the bar. I don't know if I'm even allowed to mutter the words "group buy" without buying a sponsor, but if anyone is interested, pm me.

EDIT: ok, so the steel bar is red, and the aluminum has a polished finish. I think it'd look pretty bad a$$, considering the FSTB for our car is almost as much show as it is go.
