Wow, this is exactly what is wrong with my car. The vent direction does't work sometimes and the lights for the temp controls sometimes don't come on at night when I turn on my headlights.

Could this be one reason why my AC doesn't work??

Yup; mine's like that too. If I tap it a bit, it will come one. You gotta make sure the a/c's green light is coming on...

yeah i know.......i thought it was just my car.......the climate control lights would flicker but now it never turns on....even with the ac on.....i think its cause i recently took out the deck and installed some other stuff......i'll have to read into that more and maybe wait for a write up with pics......thanks

Me too, same deal. Lights all work, but flow direction selectors do not. Rear defroster works some of the time. The A/C works sometimes. Oddly enough the light will stay green now (it used to turn off), but the air gets real warm and humid all of a sudden. Sometimes I can get it cold again, sometimes not. Seems a lot of us have this problem, why no sticky, or topic in the 4G faq?

FAQ: 4Gen Climate Control Fix (flickering lights, non changing vents, sporadic a/c)

updated write-up
