Where to start? My own little refurbrishing topic.

Hey, bought a 95 prelude SR-V (VTEC) a bit over a month ago.

There are so many things that need to be done, I just haven't got the motivation. If I make a topic and have a checklist I can check off I'll be able to get moving finally, and also to get opinions, suggestions, and advice I can always just post here instead of making/hijacking another.

To Do List...

-Fix exhaust leak b4 the cat, got a full h22a4 pre-cat exhaust I will try to get fitted...also a new O2 sensor. $100
-New rims/tires $500
-Wheel alignment $50
-Paint sawblades $10
-Clean engine bay $10
-Get rid of rust...cut out, get new metal welded. I'll have to do this later on though; dont have the money. $?
-New hood or repaint hood $200
-Prep car for new paint $?
-Fix small scrape on front bumper $?
-Install Accord rear lip--DONE
-H23 manual tensioner conversion+new t-belt+h2o pump $?
-Valve Adjustment $90
-NGK wires--DONE
-NGK plugs
-Replace a warped brake rotor

sounds like a good plan! Best wishes to you on achieving what you are aiming for. If you want your lude to look like the one you showed in that pic, you better get that motivation and you better get it fast lol!

There are so many things that need to be done, I just haven't got the motivation. If I make a topic and have a checklist I can check off I'll be able to get moving finally, and also to get opinions, suggestions, and advice I can always just post here instead of making a thread or hi-jacking someone elses.

List...

-Exhaust leak fix (buying h22a4 full exhaust for $100)

-Replace O2 sensor

-Wheel alignment ($50)

-New tires on sawblades ($300)

-Paint sawblades bronze

-Buy another set of sawblades cheap, or look for different 15/16'' rims altogether.

-Clean engine bay

-Get rid of driver side 1/4 panel rust. (fff I hate rust! stupid canada)

-Fix the 2 small passenger side dents. (might just rust proof and paint over, battle scars are cool)

-New hood to replace the one with a patch of rust.

-Put rear accord lip on other oem bumper to replace scraped one. (free, came with car)

-New paint down the road... might stick with OEM dark green, or go with a silver, or Subaru's world rally blue. ($1200)

-Fix small scrape on front bumper...sand>prime>spray>buff?

-H23 manual tensioner conversion

-New t-belt+h2o pump

-Valve Adjustment, not sure if needed. Might do anyways.

-NGK wires

-NGK plugs

-Replace rear passenger side brake rotor...its making a noise, prob warped.

Main Q's:

1) Will h22a4 full exhaust bolt straight up to h22a1? I read downpipe=too long.

2) How do you install the accord rear lip?

3) Roughly how much will a h23 manual tensioner conversion+t-belt+h2o pump install cost at a shop? I already bought the parts...will take to either the shop I trust, or honda.

---

Hi

Also this is sort of what I'm aiming for...love this lude, no idea whose it is but found it on google images.

Alot of the stuff on yout list would just be a matter of you getting up and going to work on it! Best of luck to you!

thanks guys. got the motivation and this is the video that did it, its a tribute to the Honda NSX and the great guy who helped develop it: Ayrton Senna.

must-watch for sure...also found out he had a bit of a hand in the 4th gen ludes. :0

----

I got the accord rear lip on my lude, I didnt put the center piece yet though. Looks a lottttt better because the other bumper was scraped up and the lip really flows well with the car...however the area near the exhaust tips looks awkward.

"My 95 SR-V Restoro(ish)" Just going to log a bunch of boring, useless stuff (for now) till I get things rolling later on.

At the shop I took it to (they do a great thorough job looking over vehicles) they quoted me at 5 grand to get everything that needs to be done, done. lolwut expensive shop. Ah well, half the stuff is maintenance crap im going to do shortly now that I have a list from my mechanic to cross off as I go.

Suspension stuff that is worry-some:
-Front links/bushings
-left inner tie rod end loose (just tighten it? wut?)
-left rear control arm bushings (?)
-rear sway bar links loose (tighten? I might get a diff sway bar altogether as its rusty)

Now I am confused when it comes to suspension. All I know down under there are springs, shocks, brakes, wheels, expensive coilovers and that your life depends on it to work proper unlike engine that dies and just leaves you stranded, but you and others alive.

Did some stuff today anyways. New coolant, cleaned electric wires/connectors in the engine bay...gonna give it a nice detail tomorrow. I detailed my cd5 accord instead today and made the lude watch.

new stuff I got/will be getting that i'll be throwing on once the lude goes in the garage for the winter.

-JDM look a like stanley one piece headlights (got them cheap)
-custom nostrils (stock ones that had the grill cut out, sanded, painted and mesh wire put in, guy threw them in with the headlights)
-new bumper $50 (replace scraped up one)
-new doors $120 (replace one with dent, and the one with paint damage)
-new wheels, white 15''ers $350 -- pending, need to check them out 1st. I still want bronze colored rims more though.

now for body I just need a new hood and down the road repair the rear QP rust the proper way.
