Where to put dead pedal?

Hey guys. Quick question. I got some new pedals w/ dead pedal. I tried to mount the dead pedal over the existing dead pedal, but the screws are wider than the original pedal. Now, my brother says to take the original Dead pedal assembly out and lay the new one on the floor.

Does this make any sense guys? I haven't really paid attention to how people installed their dead pedals but I would like to mount it where the OE is. I might try to make something so I can do it.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Have you tried using the original screws in the new dead pedal? That might work, however, they might not be long enough though..

If you have to take out the OEM one, you could build a custom piece to make the aftermarket one sit "higher", rather than mounting it on the floor.

It really depends on where you like to rest you foot. I've gotten really used to the one on the Lude. I used to drive the Del Sol all the time, before I had the Lude, so I was really used to that one (sat closer to the floor). When I first started driving the Lude, the dead pedal seemed really awkward, because it was so high up, but now, if I drive anything else, it seems like I have to pull my leg up too far to get back to the clutch.

All about preference..

Thanks for the replys

I guess what I'm trying to say is confusing. The pedal is too wide for the old dead pedal. The screw holes are too wide apart, so I would be screwing into air. If I moved it over, it would either be too close to the kick panel or the clutch.

All in all, I might either tape it, make a custom middle piece that is the size of the new dead pedal I can use to drill in between the two, or return it.

THe pedals are from an Italian company called Conrero. They are really nice and grippy. If you get them be careful not to cut yourself on them, cause they are mad sharp. The install isn't too hard, but it's worth it.

See how big the dead pedal is? These are for either a BMW or Porsche

No problem

The clutch pedal is in, but needs a little tightening. I can hear the washer moving. It's a little difficult to get something to hold the nut tight while tightening. Another problem is with the curve in the OE pedal, and holding the pedal still while drilling. Oh, and did I mention watch your fingers? I was considering getting stitches.

THe feel on the one pedal is awesome. It has no slip whatsoever and I have to lift my foot off the clutch instead of slide it over, so I don't tear my shoes up because they are so sharp.

I'll mess with the other ones when my brother gives me my car back

I got them from a local shop, but if you do a search on www.google.com for "conrero" there are a couple places there.

I got them for $90 for all four which is a lot better than 150+ for the Mugen. You should be able to find them cheaper on the net.

Yeah, my hand is alright, but I cut myself right where my finger bends, so it hurts everytime I grab stuff.

Hey 93si4ws, I'm still interested in the cylinder head, but I need to go on a trip so all my money is gone. I got the pedals for my birthday Sorry I've been BS'ing, but I need to go to my lil bro's graduation.

its either those, or the momo race pedals. they're about the same in price. might go with the momos cause im already bleeding as it is

dont worry about the head its not going anywhere. actually i just found out that he never even finished it. do you want me to get it finished or do you want to try doing it yourself. i remember you saying you'd like to try it out.

Sorry to get off topic, but I would prefer the head finished, if not, no big deal. It's hard to start where someone left off.
I'm really interested in the intake manifold, because I've heard they are a bottleneck.
