when it's hot out my car on't start, my friend works as a service manager at an acura dealership and told it was the main relay and was cheaper to do it myself.

Does the battery need to be unplugged while changing out the main relay?

just for future reference

ANYTHING electrical requires you to unplug the battery, just to be on the safe side

All you do is take a flat head screw driver and pry between the grey and maroon on the bottom side and pull on the harness and it comes out. swap it with the new maroon relay piece and plug it in and your set. Look at the pic above, i think you will understand what i mean.
