Where to get good decent exhaust for '92 Prelude S

Im looking for something in between better than what I have and the best. Which right now is a pretty good range. I just picked up the prelude and it has been my dream car for years, finally have one. Anyway I need to do some things to it, mainly the engine, but I was looking for new exhaust systems and nobody seems to have one for the '92 S. Not sure why but if anybody knows the spot to find it that would be great. Im not really into the deep rumbling sound type exhaust, more just looking for performance enhancement. I want to turn this thing into a little racecar. Any help??

first of all specify what do you have now?

You can always get Magnaflow, they are not expensive and are not super cheap either. They are very tunable and depends on your setup you can get various tones from that exhaust. Look into resonators as well.

Keep checking ebay or craigslist. Or Google Magnaflow for Prelude.

and btw, congratz on the Prelude!

ok thanks

Sounds good. I went to the Magnaflow website and under the exhaust systems they dont even have an option to choose Prelude, just Accord, Civic, Cr-x, and S2000. Only option I see there is the do-it-yourself kit. Seems like alot of places have systems for Preludes but not for the 92. Oh and here are some pics of the beauty

nice buy. love 4th gen lude. well, you can get an manga flow exhaust and let the muffler shop do the custom pipe w/e.

MagnaFlow XL 3 Chamber Muffler 3" Ctr In 2.5" Off Out | eBay x1

OBX 16" Weld on Universal High Flow Resonator 2.5" ID | eBay x2

tell the muffler shop do a custom 2.5" pipe with those. and youre good to go.

thats exactly what i did, had the shop fabricate me a 2.5in pipe with a resonator and magnaflow muffler and im happy as hell with the way it sounds/feels. and most shops will have the parts you need on-hand so you dont have to do any extra legwork. got my setup for $160. just ask around and do your hw for a reputable shop in your area

sounds like a plan

So basically ur saying all I need is the resonator and a muffler from (brand of choice) and the piping doesnt have to be all that special right?

I went with RS*R exmag catback and never looked back, opens up the lower RPM without the annoying ricer sound, very well built and fits like a glove, was looking into this and apexi world series at first but after months of research the RSR took the cake, go on youtube and get a sample of what it sounds like, BTW you can always go down to autozone, OReilys, kragens, walmart etc to pickup a magnaflow and piece together an exhaust anytime.. BUT if you want a quality built exhaust and some street cred RSR exmag is the way to go

If you want to do something with the engine, which I'm guessing swapping that accord engine for something more potent then I wouldn't be wasting money on something that does little for performance just yet.

Search, the car is nearly 2 decades, everything you can think of has already been done.
