Where to buy EL Gauges?

I can't find any on eBay. Am I just going to have to head over to a junkyard and see what I can find?

I'm sorry, I meant to say the actual EL gauge cluster so I can swap out my old (1992) cluster and have gauges like in my old Prelude.

Good luck finding the cluster. Your best bet is to buy JDM EL gauges. I usually see one pop up every other week on ebay. Otherwise go to a junkyard... the one time I went, there were two preludes and both had the gauges. I'm still waiting to get mine, if I'll ever get them from a former PO member who basically ripped me off.

his best bet is not to get jdm el gauges, thats pointless, its rhd, so unless he wants to have the cluster sit crooked thats not the option. I had one, and it might look like i can fit, but it doesnt sit flush, and looks very weird. All u have to do is be patient and look at ebay every few days, I had to buy a 2nd cluster cause the one i got from the junk yard had busted needle cords. I got one from a 96 for 65 shipped. Just be patient, something will come around.

Well I'll just call my insurance and see where they brought my old lude because the accident didn't damage the gauges and I also know of another junkyard in Houston with literally over 20 4th gens.

Thanks!

You know im in need of a some EL gauges myself, if ANYONE wants to head down to their local junker, and find a pair I will gladly buy them off you, here in canada, ther isn't tons of 4th gen ludes wrecked, and if ther is, they dont' goto any ole junkyard, they usually goto private yards, that only certain peopel can get into.

PM me if you want to take me up on offer.

I have access to a cluster out of a 95 USDM Si (guages read MPH) and also one from a Canadian SR-V (VTEC) (guages read Km/h)..

The SR-V cluster I was going to install in may car because I installed a h22 and wanted the tach with the proper readline... .. but I could be convinced to part with it with the right offer.. either that or I could sell my original Canadian SR cluster..

I got mine complete with the invertor box for $65 from www.car-part.com. The guy even threw in some tweeter grills for free.

yea my guages aren't the EL (and I dont care for now) but the guages like the black facing of it is fading off and so there are specs of green light coming through not just the numbers but all over the face of the guages.

That being said I've been highly considering doing the indiglo guages or swapping out for the ELs.

so couple questions---

1. regarding the EL guages, assuming I can find them online, what does everyone do about the mileage being off (not accurate) on the new one?

2. does anyone know where to find indiglo guages that cover just the guages? I dont want the face of the whole cluster white (even if only the guages light up) I just want the guages white. Anyone know where to find anything like that? i dont see them on e-bay.

thanks

the junkyard is the best bet to get them. That way, you don't have to source out the AC/DC converter box and wire harness. Even though you don't need to get the wireharness, I got it anyways b/c it was pretty much plugging all the connectors (except for splicing and grounding one wire). Plus it was just $120 for all 3 parts.

On the EL gauges you can change it but its really involved. You pretty much just deal with having different milage so if you ever plan on selling your car be prepared for that

you can take your old gauge cluster and new one and take it to place that does it. It usually requires u to ship it. I myself didn't do it. I went from 124k miles to 219k though
