WHeel wobble HELP!

OKay here is the situation... when Accelerating from a stop I get considerable wobble in my stearing wheel.. If I place my foor on the little foot rest peddle next to the clutch I can feel a sort of knocking the coincides with the wheel wobble....

I have a 1994 VTEC with about 150K on it.. its ONLY coming from the left front side..

Here's a little backround that might help too.. ABout 3 months ago I was forced off the road and hit a very low curb at a decent rate of speed.. Hard enough to take a chunk out of my Konig verdict, this was on my left from wheel. I got a new rim put on and everything seemed fine.. It had a slight vibration in the stearing wheel at abot 60-65mph but nothing serious..

I recently put my stock rims back on with brand new tires.. they were mounted and balanced etc.. the SLIGHT wobble at 60 mph remained but everything else was fine...

COming home from work today I took a turn Pretty hard, and it sounded like the left front tire rubbed a bit (the car is lowered w/Pro-kit) but it did this from time to time since I had it lowered, about 3 years ago...

SO could this be a wheel bearing?? WHat's this gonna cost me? IS the car driveable..

OH a little more description... the wobble ONLY happens when my foot is actually on the gas.. IF I accelerate from 0-30 it will wobble all the way to thirty if I gas it till like 15 mph and then let off the gas there is NO WOBBLE at all...

I think somebody else on the 4th Gen board had this problem, and they found out that it was indeed a bad wheel bearing. I'm not sure of the costs, but take it to an alignment shop, and see what they have to say.

A lot of times when you get a wobble only DURING acceleration, the culprit is the inner CV joint. I would say that this is the case more than 75% of the time. As for the wheel bearing, it is a PIA to change, I can't remember off hand if Honda sells the bearing by itself, or only part of the complete hob/knuckle assembly. Getting the bearing out will require a nice heavy duty press. I use a 25 ton press in my garage and it struggles with some wheel bearings. I would get under the car take a look at your inner CV boots, look for slung grease, the boot may or may not be torn, sometimes the boot shrinks over time, and grease slings from around the axles/boot mating area. If all is clean and well, check your wheel while it's on jack stands. grab it and try to wiggle it, spin it and listen for rubbing/grinding noises.
