wheel size preference...

mods pleasea dont move this, not many people check the wheel and tires forums thx.

I just wanted to see what size wheels people like best when upgrading. I went from 15s to 17s, and i m not liking the 17s that much anymore, mainly cause of the 40 series tires, I didnt bigger tires for rubbin issues. Wheels feel like they are takin a beatin, so i m planning on goin with 16s with 45 series. I wanted to hear you guys' opinions about all of this, so start postin what u like, and why u like or not.

thx

I like how 17s look compared to 16s, but I agree with you that after driving on 215/40/17s with coilovers (or just stiffer springs in general) the daily ride quality has reached some pretty low points. My only issue was white wheels make for perceived gap already, so 16s in white would've looked kinda weird I think, at least with my modest drop of 1.5".

haha i wish i could fit 215 40s haha. The ride quality is awsome with the coilovers, just the 17s feel real big at time, its like everytime i catch a pot hole, when the tires take the impact, i feel like the wheels suffer and i think that messes up the balance on them too, its like it hurts when i take a hit and i m like ouch, that musta hurt ! I think the 40s just dont have nuff rubber to absorb hits, my suspension is set to 3 out of 5, its soft for the most part, and stiff when it needs to be. Wheel gap with 16s doesnt really matter to me, i ll adjust it as i like it, just i want to know if more rubber will the 16s and the 45s will ride better.

I know that feeling with the 17's. You think you must have bent the rim it felt like you hit so hard. I'm running neuspeed springs and kyb adjustables with my 17's. I was in another lude with 16's last week and I didn't feel all that much of a difference. I'm actually looking to go to 18's now because I don't drive as much. It would be a shame to change those rims, the first time I saw them in your sig I really liked them

I think 16's look the best on the 4th gen, e.g., rota C8's, and should help with drivability, but I ended up with 17s too

haha, i see difference in opinions, but its all good. I took my rims off today, and put my 15s back on til i can buy my 16s. on the way home, the more rubber theory felt really good. I hit a few holes and it def didnt feel like my wheels were takin a beatin. I know you guys like my 17s, but for everyday drivin, and with all the construction goin on around my area, i cant afford to have drama with my wheels and tires. but anyways, if you liked my 17s, then you will like my 16s also, i found a wheel that comes in a same finish hyperblack, and looks almost exactly like my 17s. here is a sneak peek of my upcomin 16s , lets see what u guys think ?

And another thing i like is the black center cap and the black stamp on the spoke.

I love my 17x7's personally. Since I do run 215/45 tires, I dont feel potholes that much (when I do hit them accidentaly), and after slight modification to the fenderwell, I dont rub.

I like 15s and 16s, bigger wheels are usually too heavy for my tastes. Either that or big $$$ just to get them down to an acceptable heft. Unsprung mass is the enemy.
