you need a helms! youre lucky you caught me just waking up and too lazy to get outta bed just yet.

there isnt really a wheel bearing back there.
its a spindle and hub assembly.... the spindle bolts to the rear knuckle and the hub slides over the spindle and then thats about it.

place on jack stand, remove wheel, remove brake caliper assembly, remove brake disc, remove dustcap located in the center of the brake disc, remove bolt under dustcap, i think the hub is now able to be tapped loose with a rubber mallet and then remove the 4 nuts on the backside of knuckle, remove spindle, installation is reverse of removal. check out the exploded diagrams

part on diagram # 10 and #11 are your spindles there are 4 bolts and 4 nuts that secure each spindle to the knuckle

part on diagram #2 is the hub assembly

good luck, im off to join the awake and living and try and get some shiit done before work

by the way new parts will run you well over $200 from the dealer. if you can find a deal on a 5th gen 5 lug conversion, and also happen to be in need of new brakes i would do that instead =) id offer my old parts for a direct replacement but no one wanted them and now they are in the scrap yard.

Ya, it was easier for the 5th gen I think. Just had mine replaced a week ago by a friend. Wasn't too bad minus the normal car issues. We just replaced the hub assembly, but that was on a 5th gen. Cost me 100 bucks, and some time with a friend.

thats just half of the assembly tho, if it were bad enough for me to replace one half, id replace both halves of the assembly just to be safe. even if it were a used assembly i dont think id like to use one old and one brand new. if your car is still cool then sweet! id just rather replace both parts then and know im good there for a while'

the 5th gen is the same as far as parts, kinda. the 4th and 5th gen have nearly identicle spindles and hubs. it would be almost impossible to tell the difference between the two spindles if they werent sitting side by side and even still youd really have to look at them. the hubs would only look different by being different lug patterns. the 5th gen spindles are actually a direct replacement bolt on part (unless you want to keep abs/4ws, and/or abs w/4ws, in which the corresponding abs sensor must be replaced as well... but... its a direct replacement as well meaning it pulgs directly into both generations harness)
