whats up with my fuel gauge?

when i start the car the gauge reads full for a few seconds, then when i start to drive it goes to the real reading....then sometimes ill be driving and it will read full for a moment out of the blue for no reason....then go back to the original reading??WTF is up with that?

Your float in the tank might be going bad, either that, or it's loosing connection.
