Whats the top speed of a JDM H22??

Hey Marsh was saying that the JDM H22 was limited to 118 an then fuel cut off hits I was just curious if this happens to everyone or if some of us are lucky :P . I've heard they are suppose to be able to go 145 hadn't heard about the fuel cut off. What can u do to fix it if thats the case?

The JDM P13 ECU has a speed governer at 180 km/h. This translates to around 113 mph. You can get electronic devices that will eliminate this though,

The vafc will not eliminate that, you either have to get your current jdm p13 chipped with a different program, which I did, this will also raise the red line which greatly improves power because you are able to be a little higher in the power band in the next gear, which makes a huge difference, also it does eliminate the top speed govenor, my prelude with jdm h22, h,vafc, cai,no balancer belt will peg my si, speedo at 140, and still pulling a little, so 145ish give or take is about right, I would say a realistic number given that our speedo's are not accurate at that speed would be somewhere in the 130's real speed.

Another fix it is getting a usdm p13, or getting a p28 wich I also have, and get it programmed for a dohc motor.

there are difference of opinions on the p28's, and p72 wich is the teg gsr or type r ecu, I forget which. some opinions are good and some are bad.
my jdm actually ran very strong with my p28 the only reason I got rid of it was because it did not have a rev limiter, you just have to make sure the chip you put in it has a limiter or just buy a ignition with one.
hope this helps
matt

Are the Hondata applications made to change these kind of settings on the ECU?

WHAT!*#%!*%*!% My usdm h23 goes all the way to 220km/h for sure but i can't see it cutting out before 240 (redline and then some) ... hmmmm ...

Can we get a breakdown on what the P13, P28 and P72 ecu's are all from?

P13 - h22 prelude
P28 - ???
P72 - ITR

Do these have to be re-programmed or can I take mine to a place that can actually tune the ECU of my existing ecu in my car or do they patch on a new program or .. ?

a p28 is the ecu from a single cam vtec motor, like the civic ex. and you have to get them chipped or rom tuned, rom tune is they plug your ecu into a computer basically and play with all the settings. thats all they do with the chips, then just sell them.

A JDM engine with JDM tranny has the same top speed as a USDM 4th gen VTEC. THey are they same gear ratios.

There is an old issue of Car & Driver that had a special about cars that did 150mph for under 30k.....radar verified.....and our beloved 4th gen VTEC prelude was one of them..............

I don't see a stock 4th gen, doing 150, my car wont do that and it's far from stock. Maybe it's because of my h23 tranny.
