main relay - most common symptom is that you can start the car when it is cold but if you've driven for a while, stop the car briefly and try to restart (e.g., stopping for gas), it won't start again for a few minutes. THen miraculously it will start again. Has to do with the solder in the relay. Over time they crack and as it gets hot it will actually lose it's connection with the board. Needs to be resoldered or replaced.

not sure about ignition coil - trouble starting all the time

ig. coil - car may hesitate during acceleration. car may stall out and then not start again for several minutes. misfire. the ignition coil is the part of the distubutor and the distributor controls the firing to each cylinder. hope that helps.

no such thing as a stupid question....

misfiring is where the cylinders may fire in the wrong order. what is your car doing?

From what i remember h-series have external coils which are not inside the distributor.
