I'm having a very subtle hesitation problem with my car.
The engine is H22, the plugs/wires/cap/rotor/fuel filter have been done recently as well as the fuel injectors were cleaned/balanced @ RC at the same time just a few months ago
I picked my car up from the body shop a few weeks ago and the first 5 miles or so I had a LOT of hesitation, figured it was bad gas and it did go away so I didn't worry about it.
But now i'm noticing between 3000-4000rpms and not all that often, when I press the gas there's a like 1/2 to 1 second stutter then it goes, kinda unnerving but it's gotta be something stupid, any ideas?
tends to only do it when it's hot, like 85+ and humid outside
it does that on mine too... i have noticed it more when it has been hotter outside 100+ degrees but no humidity, and when i have my A/C on...
seems like the engine doesn't get enough gas and then it goes... but only happens when i launch from a stop, even on normal driving. Doesn't happen all the time though... so now i rev before i go so i can keep the rpms a little bit higher and prevent this "spooling" period.

well you know there's a lot of dust in a body shop, maybe you should check your air filter if it's not too dirty... just a thought...
advance your timing. that will most likely get rid of the hesitation. Mine was doing it before the dyno tuning. Advanced the ignition timing all the way. And if you have VAFC go get it tuned on a dyno, it's worth it. You'll need a timing light to get the timing right, but without it you can hear the motor running different as you turn the distributer at idle.
No you didn't but the thing is, his car was working good when it got to the body shop and not as good when it left it, so I think he should resolve the problem instead of actually trying to get more power by doing something else and still have that problem
You are certainly far superior to me... When you add mods you change what your car thinks. Ya, you can reset the ecu all you want but eventually you'll have to change the way the car uses the fuel/air. I don't really give a **** about the body shop or even if they caused it. I saw that he said there was a hesitation in his acceleration and thought I would post a possible remedy. Seems as though that fixed his problem, and I'm sure he did pick up a little power when he did it. So don't be a dick to someone that is looking at the big picture, and trying to help. I didn't poke fun and your "dusty filter" remedy.
