Same here. I might switch to 0w40 for the winter.

I just stuck some 5w-50 synthetic into my car...but one question...can anyone explain to me what these numbers mean? I know its something to do with the thickness of the oil and how well it coats the engine...anything more detailed than that? thanks...

The number before the w is the oil's weight rating when the engine is cold, and the number after is its weight rating when it's warm/hot.

Castrol GTX 10w30 change every 3000 KM's... If I were to run it in the winter I would go 5w30

I dont buy into that whole synthetic oil also.. I save money and my oil stays cleaner cuz Its changed every 3000 km's...

I believe that for closed deck H22s 10w-30 is what Honda reccomends since closed deck motors won't cool as efficiently as the open deck h22s. Also for hot climates and hard driving the 10w-30 will stand up better.

I will be running Valvoline syn power 10w-30 for the summer and switch to 5w-30 in winter since I'm up here in NH. I got Valvoline Durablend 10w-30 right now for breaking in my motor.
