Whats this ABS code mean?

My ABS light comes on as im driving up my street or within 20 secs of initially taking off from a restart. It comes on regardless of whether or not I have touched the brakes. I pulled the code tonight and it was just one flash then nothing else. Could someone please tell me what this means. I was told that if my brake pads were low then that might cause it but know that i know the code is one flash then I need to know for sure what it is. thanks.

common problem amongst 4th gens... checking the obvious to eliminate the "buggy ABSlight" syndrom..

brake fluid
pads
bleed valves

other than that, try a ECU reset... none of these worked for my car.. it kicks on as soon as i get above 10mph no matter what. alot of people pull the bulb as an easy solution.. but make sure you check everything before doing that. Dont wanna pull the bulb if it's on because of a problem

code 1 is your ABS pump... one of the first trouble shooting tips in the helms manual says to get a "Bleeder T-Wrench" and drain some of the fluid out of the pump to see if its overflowed. It has specific things to do than just that, so make sure you follow the Helms manual.

Anyhow, from my understanding it pretty much means get a new ABS pump. I got quoted $158 for a Bleeder T-Wrench from Majestic Honda (its a honda specific part from what I understand) and a ABS Pump from Advance Auto or Autozone is only a little bit more than that, no sense in putting so much money down on a highly specialized tool that costs about the same as the part it MIGHT fix (unless i was a mechanic and used it more than a couple times).

The abs pump is located on the modulator unit. You have to pull the whole assembly out to get to the pump. It is a real pain. It also could be the modulator unit itself. The Honda manual gives flow charts to determine the problem. I have the same code and changed the pump out and it did not cure the code. So 8 to 1200 for a new modulator, I will live with the light.
