well....i just bought my '94 prelude si this summer and i've been loving it every possible minute. i have been looking ever since summer started for a 4th gen prelude with a budget that was under $7000 and i finally found one on yahoo, and i emailed the guy the second day he posted it. i went to see the car that day and had him agree to a price. the guy sold me the car for $6100 which is only $100 more than the dealer was willing to give him for a trade in. thought it was a good deal since it only had 93k miles on it and was well taken care of except for minor scatches on the paint. Picked up the car in LA, got lost, and ended up cruisin around near Staple Center until i could find the right freeway for about 45 minutes...but i didn't care, i had the car that i've been wanting since freshman year of high school.
Let's just say what I experienced when I first got, saw it, and drove it, I still experience every day to the same extent as that very first day. It's a fvcking Prelude man!!! How can it ever grow old?
I didn't know jack about cars back then. All I know is that I want a sports car or a sports coupe for college. I was actually checking out Mustangs/Camaros when I was shopping around. Heck I never heard about Preludes back then. To make the story short I was test driving a gt mustang when all of a sudden it died in the middle of the road (heard a loud clicking noise before it died). I guess domestic cars are out of the picture. Anyways I got mine 2 yrs ago. I found her from a used car wholesaler. She had some dents on the hood and the rear bumper was faded. Didn't do much anything on the car for almost a year until one day I found a cool looking site (hondaprelude.com). From there I saw member's rides all hooked up. So I decided to start modding it. My first mod was my stereo. Bought a decent h.u. from Pioneer, then wings west spoiler, fresh new paint, LCD, rims, suspension.....until I realized that fixing up cars and meeting HOT women is more fun than sitting on my computer and play games all day. (I have no life, huh?) Now after going to several car shows and Prelude meets I'm going to start modding my engine. Damn this import culture...it's so addicting. I sense a boosted milano red si very soon I never regretted buying the lude. I it's a great piece of art.
When I first started looking for my first car about a year ago I was in love with Mustangs...all i ever talked about were Mustangs...about 3 months before i actually bought my car I saw that EVERYONE had mustangs, so i said screw that (plus they aren't that great of quality) Then since my dad had a civic and mom had an oddesy i checked out the prelude...hottest looking car ever!! so for 3-4 months i searched Hi and LOW and finally found a 92 S auto prelude with 57K miles on it in philly (i'm from NJ) 3 months before my 17th bday i made my dad take me to go see it...it was a hot ass looking car so after 2 visits i bought it for $6500...let me tell you, having a prelude in your driveway for 2 months and not being able to drive it was PURE HELL... everytime i would walk past a window i would make sure i looked at it..i would go out and sit in it and listen to music lol...well now i've realized i shouldve held out for either an si or vtec and definatly a 5 speed...so i will be selling this car soon and buying another prelude only 5 speed...i'm goin to look at a white 93 5 speed si this weekend so wish me luck...preludes are ****in awesome
I looked and looked for a lude that was in my price range (4k), and had no luck. I went driving around with my b/f to find one, him telling me over and over to just get a civic, I wasn't gonna find one in that price range. I found 2 that day, and both were autos (I wanted a 5 spd), one with a blown head gasket that was still priced at 6k. Talk about discouraged. I found mine on auto trader.com, and it was only $3500. It had some body damage (dents and dings mostly) and high miles (191k). I fell in love with it when I saw it on the computer. I had to work the day after we rode around, and I left my b/f a note that I still wanted the silver lude really bad. He called me at work, and told me that him and his best friend were on their way to look at it, and it was like 2 hours away. I begged him to go ahead and get it, but being a guy, he had to check it out first. I told him to call me back and tell me if he got it, and of course he didn't. He showed up at my job with the keys in his hand...he was able to talk the kid down to $3100. I couldn't leave my job, so I had to settle for staring through a window. I raced home after work, and demanded the keys. He had to drive it first, to show me what exactly it was that I bought, and I loved it as soon as I sat down in the passenger seat. I fell even more in love when I slid behind the wheel for the first time. It was love. I continue to fall more in love with it every day, after 6 months and about 10,000 miles. I still sit and stare at it, not fully believing, even now, that she is mine, all mine. I'm gonna be driving my lude when I'm 90 years old.
even though i havent actually had it in my driveway yet im going nuts! i keep showing people a picture of it and saying "I GOT A PRRRRRRRRREEEEEEELLUUUDDDDDEEEEE!" haha i think ive told everyone like 5 times lol
i picked it upf ro 3,500 with a street fyghter II kit, 17 inch white 5zigen rims, catback exhaust, lowered (unsure what kind of springs), red black vinyl interior, but with now motor :-(
thats where the fun comes in though.........this gives me a reason to do the h22a swap and not hear complaining from my parents about destroying a perfectly fine car hahahaha

A chinese guy I used to work with said it was one of the best all-around cars he ever owned. He drove a done up RX7 and told me to get a PRELUDE SR-V, he said he would be pissed if I got an SR or S model because you should only buy the TOp of the line cars when you buy a car because it has higher re-sale value...
he showed me a couple pics of his car and I fell in love with it.. he also told me that soon as i get it , I might get a front lip and lower it, he said the stock prelude needs a front lip..
I purchased a 94 SR-V with 87,000 km's on it.. 1 owner car. Loved every minute of it.. I remember the first day I drove it on the highway, saying to myself "what the hell, this cant be 5th gear! I got a lemon" because it was revvving so high and I was used to my old Chevy revving at 2500 RPM at 120 Km/h.. hehe I remember I shifted back into fifth like 3 times making sure it was 5th gear and saying "holy crap I am gonna blow the motor if I keep revving it this high" hahahaha
I was 15 and somehow got grounded for arguing with my parents. I was forced to go to the beach with my mom and my aunt the next day. All pissed off, I fell asleep on the way to the beach in the backseat of my moms car. I woke up when we came to a stop and realized that we werent at the beach, we were at a car dealership. A white prelude was sitting out front looking pittifully stock. I looked at it, and didnt really like it. Ugly blue interior, stock hub caps, f22..... After looking at the car, we made one stop at a gas station where I purchaces a SCC mag which featured a black prelude vtec with some itr headlights. I fell in love with the 4th gen and this is my car today.
Unfortunately its still got that damn f22. Well my 19th birthday is in 4 days and maybe i can get a little help purchacing that jdm h22 and lsd from my parents.
