What was your first reaction when you guys got your 4th gen?? I know when i bought mine I couldn't sleep the whole night but ended up looking at my new 4th gen until the sun rised up...I drove it to school the next day but couldn't concentrate on school work because my percious 4th gen was sitting in the parking lot waiting for my return haha =) one of the happiest days of my life!
haha, well when my dad brought it home i was like "oh ****, this thing looks even more dented now that its mine than when i was looking at it at the guy's house"
heh, i told him to get out and attempted to drive it. stalled 3 times or so, lol. i was so happy when i got it moving. for the first few days, i would just drive it around the neighborhood for a few minutes since we didnt all the insurance and registration stuff done on it yet. i was impressed by its speed since my old car was painfully slow (0 - 60 in 10.5 seconds or so, its messed up exhaust made it seem fast from all the noise)
I LOVED just looking at it in my driveway . It just felt like it wasnt mine though because I couldnt drive it that well (it was my first 5-speed). But I couldnt WAIT to take it to school to show all my friends. I didnt tell anyone I bought it so it was a suprise to everyone when I pulled in the school parking lot. I heard people asking "who's is that red 4g 'Lude out there?" all day during school. I loved butting in and saying "oh, its mine". I was the only 4th generation there so that made me feel extra special
The first day I got mine I had to commute to school and be at school all day. The crappy thing is we didn't finish all of the paperworks so I had to go to school an hour away with my dads car. That was the longest school day ever. I drove home really quickly and learned how to drive stick in it in about twenty minutes then I drove it all night. very cool day

I just got mine two weeks ago and I have only been able to drive it the first two days I got it. I need to get it inspected. It has been sitting there ever since.
When I first drove it I was definitly surprised how much power it has even with 155K miles on it.
I can't wait to get it inspected.

I fell so in love with mine that I probably got ripped off when I bought it! Someone else was serious about getting it too so I had to make a quick decision. But damn, it was worth it. I put a ton of miles on that car the first month.
Some days I REALLY miss it.

Well, I went to a use car dealership to look for a car for my bro and when I parked my car ('89 Toyota Corolla) next to the 4th Gen. It looked like it was a Million dollar car. I had to buy it. Went in and put a diposite right there at that moment. He just brought it in too. I went home and check the kbb.com price just so I get an idea. And a few days later. I have it sitting in my drive way. I Love my lude and can't think of selling it.
mine was previously owned by a non caring rich boy that worked at his father's insurance agency, car was bought for him as a "company vehicle" back bran new, 1994si
it has a few ticks on the odometer @ 110,000 miles, some of the paint oxidized, some rust beginning (that's michigan for ya), but it ran good and was my first "import" expierence.
I sure did admire the car though and classified it as one of those badass cars I could only hope to own.
The test drive ensued and it was my first time ever touching a 5spd, I wasn't very good with it, but I sure did feel some serious attraction to the car.
After the test drive, we talked about price, in love with the car my intelligence didn't let me make a mistake, he wanted 8995$ for it (back in early 2000) but I wasn't willing to give more than 6500 or 7000$, he declined but took my number.
3 days later I recieve a call, he accepts 7000$, offers to pay for the inspection @ the honda dealer and then after it passes, fills it up with gas and the paperwork began.
One morning I woke up excited and handled the money, registration and got it legal, drove around my town for a minute feeling as if I was the coolest guy that ever passed those roadway intersections.
Minutes later my buddy sees me and wants to go to chicago, 140 miles away, I agree and we're off.... he taught me some about my car I had no clue about and the passion for 4th generation preludes has burned strong ever since.
Now just over two years have passed and it's been retinted, repainted, body kitted, h22 swapped and put into absolute mint running and visual condition and I hate the car sometimes, but like true love, I always make up and have sex with the redline.
damn you honda for ruining this car in 1997 and axing it in 2001.
When I bought my lude, I was thinking... How the hell am I going to get home with 2 cars? (30 miles away and I was alone). I ended up driving the Prelude home and parking my civic on the street. I got a ride to work the next day and drove the civic home.
It was bitter-sweet, I had a 98 Civic EX cp 5spd, only like 130hp or so, but it was new, only 25k on the clock. When I first got the lude, it had 147k and, while it had gobs more power, it was a used car, and had the qwerks of a usual used car.
Bottom line: I still have the Prelude, now with VTEC power, and I sold the Civic.
the first day i got my 4th gen i dropped it and cruzed the beach,i was so happy, but my happyness ended when some drunk dude slammed into the back of my car pushing me into a ford f350,this ended up being the worst day and night ever
i looked long and hard for my fourth gen in 2001. When i was gettin my first car. i couldnt find any at all i was gonna by a 94 vtec with liek 100k on it and the next day i opened up the paper and saw a black on black 95 vtec with 51k on the motor. i didnt know how to drive stick so my dad had to go get it. As i walked home from school and saw it in my driveway i fell in love with it. The prelude is such a ****en bad ass car i dont know how anyone could dog on it and say its slow and ugly.
The first day i got mine i drove it around my neighborhood with a messed up motor and when it finally died it sat in my garage until i got a motor for it but i remember sitting in it and washing it even though it didnt run haha it was great !
The first day I bought it, all I did was go to work and go home. That was how I learned to drive stick, by buying that car. The next day I decided it was roadtrip time and headed to Orlando. It was then I realized what great gas mileage I get ( I made it on a little over half a tank of gas, while my friend in a 2000 Si had to stop and refill hahaha). That was also the first time I took her into triple digits, at 120. Then we came home and that Sunday we all washed our cars (a sunday morning ritual) and went out for a spin and i got t-boned by some ***** going 40 and it did $6000 dollars worth of damage. but the actual first day i had her in my possession was great.
I got mine 2 years ago...I was totally happy and jumping for joy...then I looked inside and saw that it was an automatic...which took me out of the happy phase...then I popped the hood and saw "F22A" which took me out of my jumping phase...but I was still happy cuz I just love the way prelude's look and the style of the lude is timeless...
I had been looking for a Prelude in the used car ads for a while and was thrilled to find 93 VTEC w/50k miles, a cassette-CD changer, and in great condition. Went, checked it out--interior was perfect, outside had a few parking-lot dings, but that's it. Took it off his hands for $8500. Don't regret the purchase.
Drove it from Ventura to Santa Barbara, wishing there weren't so many cops around...hehehe... anyway, I got it home and just sat in the car for an hour, just checking it out, reading the instruction manual, learning all its specs... then I'd spend at least two hours every day cleaning every part of the car.
Everyone loved the car. I showed it to my buddies at work, everyone thought the car was awesome. All my friends thought the car was sick; even my mom wanted to drive it, and she hates taking other people's cars. Anyway, everyone loves that car. It's not common to find a Prelude, so most people who see it have no idea that car even exists. It's a nice change from all the Civics and Integras in the world...
I saw mine for sale over the internet up in New York (I'm from MD). I ended up going up that weekend to check it out. We met at a gas station & when he pulled up I almost sh*t a brick. I fell in love immediately. It looked so nice, slammed to the ground, 18's shining and spinning so nicely. Took it for a test drive and was amazed at the power (much more than my Civic DX).
The entire week I couldn't concentrate on anything, spent the whole time getting a loan arranged and all. the next weekend I went up and bought it. I felt like the pimp driving it home from New York.
It took a month before I could look at it withoug being totally amazed that I actually owned it.
Best 9K I ever spent...
