I sold my motorcycle and have about $3,500 left over to spend on my car. My car is completely stock except for the mods listed in my sig. The paint is starting to fade on my car and I would like to upgrade the appearance ie: rims, bodykit(WW RS or BM), hood, paintjob, etc. I've also thought about a header, pullies, etc. I'm open to all suggestions. Thanx in advance.

I just did a performance mod (I/H/E) on my '92 Si and gained 14 WHP. It cost me about $1200 including installation.

Yeah, I already have all the mods in my signature installed, but the headers and paint job w/ lots of UV protection would be nice. Keep 'em coming.......

I would get the Greddy Header, Keep the Thermal catback!
RS kit-$550
New paint-$1200
Rims/tires-$1000
Susp Techniques sway bars-$250
Vafc-$250
Dyno tune it all-$150
Tune up- New plugs/Wires/Dist. cap and rotor/Oil change-$100
RS kit and paint.
OR Vtec drop.* You asked what *I* would do
If I were you .. and you didnt have vtec.. HYBRID
Or .. Hybrid + rims .. w00t! (wetsand touch up the paint?)
You have lots to play with but me, for sure paint n RS or i'd do the vtec swap for sure... vtec gets priority to me, .. first the zoom then the bling.
Trust me, you will get to the point in your life where you will regret dumping so much money into your car and when you go to sell it, you will not recoupe that money.
I look back on it now and think that I could have used the $12,000 plus to send my wife back to school and make a crap load more money in the next few years, put it towards the future kids college funds, or put it towards home improvements where I would recoupe that money when I go to sell the house.
If I don't spend the money on my car I'll just end up spending it on stupid crap, taco bell, movies, fancy lamps for my apartment, stuff like that. I already have an IRA and invest in a mutual fund, and have another $3k in savings right now. I just want to spend a little money on my car or buy a cheap motorcycle.
P.S. - I have an 87 civic as my beater, so I can make the lude my weekend car.

Sounds like your following in my footsteps. Civic as a beater (I added a Mazdaspeed into my line up as well though).
Now that I have a house, all my money goes towards it and the Prelude is getting neglected. That's why I feel you will eventually shift mindsets because your priorities change later in life. I wish I could have gotten my turbo system but I would rather have a nice place to live and keep adding to the value of my investment.
I know it is easier said than done to not mod a car, everytime I take the cover off of it, I think about what additional parts I want but I just have to be strong
With that said, if you just want to treat yourself, I would get a nice suspension set-up with sways and tower bars, then add the kit and some nice rims and tires. The finishing touch would be the JDM headlights because they make a world of difference in the look and attitude of the car.
100% agree with Mark, I wish I had the money I dumped into my car for my aviation college. Save the money man, keep it locked up, that money will come in handy when you really need it. If your car runs fine right now, then don't do anything to it!
Yeah,,, i have an 95 Si now that I use as my weekend car and my S, which I wouldnt necessarily call a beater, that I drive daily. I love the car so much I really dont want to drive anything else (with my current cash flow situation). My S got rear ended not long ago,,,damage wasnt too bad even though Honda gave it a 3700 dollar estimate for repairs. So I ended up getting about that from insurance company. I know a place that will fix it for half that so most of the rest is getting dumped into my new Si. Looking at getting AEM CAI, Greddy Headers,,,,,already got Tanabe Super Racing Medalion Catback. I just added a front strut bar and am looking at some 17in rims. Good luck!

It really depends on what's your goal is. If you're using the lude as the daily driver and you don't have anything else "useful" to spend the money on, then I would say, go for it.
After I bought my '03 Pilot, I tried selling my lude, but didn't get any good offer. Since the lude is still in very good condition, I decided to keep and rejuvenate it. So far, I've spent $2K on I/H/E mod, stereo upgrade and replacing some moldings and weather strip. I'm quite happy with it. One thing for sure is that doing the mod is "very addictive". You could spend many thousands of $$. So far, I've just done what I thought were necessary (moldings and weather strip) and for performance. For the look only, I would think many times before doing it.
I drive the lude to work, but drive the Pilot when I send my daughter to the babysitter and during the weekend for family outing.
