What would cause this?

When my gas gets down to about a quarter tank or less, a lot of the time when im driving and accelerate out of nowhere the rpm's just stop dead and the whole car will jerk and stop accelerating, and i have to let off the gas and go easier on it. This only happens below a quarter tank of gas, when i have like 4-5 bars or less. It seems to get worse the lower the gas gets, and unless i drive it really easy it will do this... any thoughts?

My guess is that at 1/4 tank your fuel level is getting low, so when you accelerate quickly all of the fuel sloshes back, effectively making your fuel level at the pump (at the front of the tank) extremely low. So it seems that if you want to accelerate quickly keep the tank above 1/4. It's smart to do that anyway in order to keep the fuel pump cool & increase it's longevity.

i remember when i was kinda low on gas and if i accelerated hard, it wouldnt shut down like that. i dont think the lude is THAT fast that it pushes the fuel so far back, its not able to suck up the fuel. i wish it were though lol
